Iv had some difficulty figuring out the significance of armor. How much does it reduce damage? Is 10 armor better, or 10 str? Im looking at a pvp perspective, generally i use mages as my main class.

Proud guild master of <Mage Army>
For me 10 str better than 10 armor ...coz another additional str mean more dmg absorbsion on our arcane shield xD even just little (for more info maybe better read skill info on skill menu)
it's not about skill, it's about armor as a stat. Primesblades is asking what 10 armor means. We know what HP means, and Mana, and crit, and dodge, and extra damage, but Armor. What is armor?
I guess armor is very linked with damage. I would say that a higher armor will absorb more damage. I think it creates a damage ratio: 300 damage done on armor of 500 means 0.6 dmg ratio; 600 damage on 300 armor means 2.0 dmg ratio. The more armor you have, the more damage you can absorb. The exact formula is known by STS.
Blue crab at kraken can do about 2000 damage on me as a capped player, but does 6000 on another lower leveled player (lvl15).
i normally say 1 armor = 10 str.
Id rather have that armor over the str because even when talking about shield the armor gives you a permanent damage reduction and helps your shield damage reduction.
Caabatric. The one nub sorcerer you wont forget.
no no and no. Armor is not equivalent to strengh. Armor is an other form of defensive stat. It has different effect on damage received
Hitpoint is how many damage you can receive
Armor is how much damage you can lower
Dodge is how many attacks you can avoid (means dmg is zero)
Althought, I will not deny the fact that STR will add hitpoint AND armor.
