L26 Mage Help

[Misfit]

I really need help with a skill build and tactics for a 26 mage. I also need suggestions for cheap gear. Right now I have l25 exped rifle of assault, l21 hellish circles, l21 hellish garments, l20 blessed circle of will, l21 onyx amulet. I either need some reall cheap gear or someone to buy all my items lol.

You will at least need your items to be your level. As a mage that will have to deal with arcane hook rogue, I suggest lvl 27 or 28. These are the gears you need, and they aren't too, too expensive:
Expedition rifle of assault/brutality

Mythic helmet (or ice scale helmet with ice scale armor)

Ancient druid armor of brutality (or ice scale armor with ice scale helm)

Ring (lvl 25 Ensorcelled of brutality is very cheap and effective, or another ring that is 27/28)
Amulet (lvl 25 talks of assault/brutality would work, or another good amulet that is 27/28.)

Your best bet is to fight with a group for now, and to try to avoid being caught alone. Your fireball and curse can be devastating in clashes.
