I have HTC Desire Z and it rocks, my gf has an iphone and the resolution is appaling compared to mine, and her battery runs out all the time while I continue to play away. when plugged in it still charges while im playing in about 3 hours with maximum brightness and normal settings. after comparing the two side by side I have to laugh at everyone on the apple/iphone/ipod bandwagon, because their technology is WACK. HTC FTW.

I am using a Galaxy S Facinate, and had problems with battery life. about 1.5 - 2 hrs of battery (5 hr car rides). Installed both Juicedefender and Powermax (both free).
I always run ATK right before I run PL
EDIT: I feel really domb. I forgot to say how much I get now. I get about 3-4 hrs with both apps running. not fully tested. never used the in-game battery saver.

    Powermax:
u can use the free one, on low, saves some battery (don't know how much, the chart and percents are on the other app) used on max while possible, low when that expired

    Juicedefender:
*NOTE: my settings might not be the best for your device*
enabled mobile data, disabled all else, unrooted
    blacklisted most apps
    whitelisted apps:
    Visible:
    Pocket Legends (Duh)
    Gmail
    Email
    and a few others
    Service:
    Messaging
other crap that I don't want to have to refresh manualy

I could play 5-6 hours with only PL running with my favorite corded headset on. Everything else is killed so the memory is more stable for a longer game play. Also, you have to take into consideration that most high-end android phones now are either amoled or super amoled. Honestly, i keep my brightness level to the lowest because it hurts my eyes when playing at night with a lampshade beside the bed. Make sure you get a phone with multi touch points higher than 3. My Nexus One does have a good processor and screen display, the only drawback is it's number of touch points which is 2.

    I use a Desire HD.
It's a great phone with a very good GPU (Adreno 205), 768 MB RAM.
I use a custom lightweight rom (Hik@Ri) as well as a custom kernel (Hik@Ri as well), overclocked to 1.8GHz but undervolted, as well as a lotof other custom tweaks (like network). I can thus play on 3G with pings in the 200-300 ms range.
The 4.3" screen is great for gaming. I know I'm never going to use a phone which has a screen smaller than that (or bigger, for that matter - 4.3" is the limit for a phone IMO). The dell streak has a 5" version, but it's neither a phone, nor a tablet.

I can't state anything about the battery usage, since, despite the kernel/ROM being optimised for low usage, I nearly always have my USB charging in.

    Hi,

these are my stats from the 7" Galaxy Tab:

    2.5-3.5h/ 3G
    3-3.5h/ Wifi, flightmode off
    4-5.5h/ Wifi, flightmode on

all at brightness from 15-30% (which is way enough for me, as long as i'm not sitting in the bright sun)
