This is a sad story indeed, The son so full of pride and wanting everything his way, the story did not say hownhe felt after, the reader has to draw their own conclusion, it said he did not cry when he found out she had passed, yet the letter was read after.

From a diff perspective... It sounds as if the mother did not want her son to respect and love her for what she did, but for who she was as a person, her son was shallow looking at the outside, not striving to see her inside, not caring that she did everything possible to give him care. Would you really want somone to change their view because of somthing you had done as opposed to who you are?... Just a thought.

If the story is fact/fiction (and yes eyes can be transplanted) A reminder to all , Nothing in life is as important as family, to go threw the days thinking this thought... I may be upset with my parent or even child.. But how would I feel if the last moment we had was negative? Could you live with that? Be quick with sincere sorrys, and realize that anger can rob people of the most precious moments in life.
