I told myself it was attacking with the sword as well and lied to myself that I hadn't just wasted 500k on a pet that doesn't make sense. ... there comes a time though when you have to be honest with yourself! I know it's hard but you can't live a lie forever.
I also don't buy into the theory that this was deliberate to save pixel space. Is attention to detail too much to ask?
