Level 45 Dual Spec Bear Tank/Bow...Done!

SUBCLAVIUS: Level 45 Dual Spec Bear Tank/Bow
Equips premium level 45 pink gear: 4 item str, or 3-4 item dex (can use bow)

This build is somewhat convoluted, but I wanted to see if it was possible...

Beginning assumptions and calculations:
230 stat points available at level 45; 1 base stat goes to int, so build must use only 229 points
Level 45 premium dex and str items require 142 stat points to equip
Max boost for 3 dex items (with bow equip) is +24 dex (3 items with +8 dex stat each)

Therefore 118 stat points are needed for pre-boost dex (142-24)
This leaves 111 points available for str (229-118)
4 item equip with +8 str each would boost 111 str to 143 str
Theoretically possible!

I accomplished this build with a combination of the gear I was carrying plus about 100k in purchases from the consignment store. Here's the exact sequence:

111str, 118dex, 1int

Strength Boost Sequence
Start with 111 str
Loadout 1:
+6str Bullfrog helm of Ahnold (lvl34/105str)
+7str Iceberg Frosty Hatchet (lvl30/94str)
+7str Zombie Croc Scale Plate (lvl 35/112str)
+7str Iceberg Frozen Shield (lvl30/93str)

Now str is 138
Loadout 2:
+8str (adds 2 str) Mynas Helmet of Osiris (lvl45/138str)
+8str (adds 1 str) Scarab Blade of Osiris (lvl41/130str)
+8str (adds 1 str) Mynas Platemail of Osiris (lvl43/136str)
+7str (no change) Iceberg Frozen Shield (lvl30/193str)

Now str is 142
Loadout 3:
+8str (no change) Battleforged Helmet of Destiny (lvl45/142str)
+8str (no change) D'jinn Spear of Osiris (lvl45/141str)
+8str (no change) Mynas Platemail of Osiris (lvl45/142str)
+8str (adds 1 str) Pharoah's Shield of Osiris (lvl45/142str)

Strength is now boosted to 143 which allows me to equip:
+7str (subtracts 1 str) Conqueror's Shock Lance (lvl45/142str)
(Who would do all of this work to equip a D'jinn Spear of Osiris?)

Final equipped str stat is 142

This sequence can still be tweaked in 2 places:
1.Aquire +8 str shield for Loadout 2
2.Aquire suitable level 45 weapon with +8 or +9 str stat
Either of these changes would allow full equip in the third loadout, without the need to manually equip the weapon.

Now the easy part...

Dexterity Boost Sequence
Start with 118 dex
Loadout:
+6dex Dead-eye Derby of Finesse (lvl34/105dex)
+7dex Sniper's Demon Dagger (lvl35/112dex)
+6dex Scorpion Leather of Finesse (lvl43/136dex)
+7dex Jewel Thief's Blackbird wing (lvl33/106dex)

Now dex is 144. All 4 loadout slots have now been used, so manual equip of 3 items is required:
+8dex (adds 2 dex) Scorpion Helm of Horus (lvl45/138dex)
+8dex (adds 2 dex) Scorpion Leather of Horus (lvl45/142dex)

Now dex is 148, which allows equipping of the +8 bow, but loses 14 points from the dagger and wing:
+8dex (subtracts 6 dex) Red Scarab Bow of Horus (lvl45/142dex)

Final equipped dex stat is 142

Note: Even if another loadout is available, the bow must be equipped manually or the second loadout breaks down. This is also noted in the dual spec guide for equipping a two-handed weapon.

Clearly, dual spec would be much easier to accomplish at level 46. Adding 3 stat points to str would make this possible with 2 loadouts, if you could find 4 suitable +7str boosters to reach 142str, and then the second loadout would contain all of the lvl45/142str gear.

Hopefully this is helpful to players who are looking at dual spec early on- you may not want to junk the items on this list as you level toward 45! The first section on assumptions/calculations should provide a model for determining if dual spec is feasible at your level.

Your boosting method sounds like you got it licked, good on you

Just a question on the beginning though, your stat points.

Why do you subtract 1 from 230 for 1 base int? Bears do have 1 base int, but it's built in so you don't have to put one point in there.

Also, bears have a base of 7 str and 2 dex, so you can subtract those from the number of points you wanted to add.

The calculations already include the base stats; 230 is the total number of stat points available at level 45. My unequipped stats for this build are 111str/118dex/1int. That's why level 45 seems like such a fine balance for dual spec- really had to thread the needle to do this

If I had a few more stat points to work with, I could eliminate one of the str loadouts which would make the whole equipping process more efficient. For example at level 46 you could just:
Strength Booster Loadout ----> Strength Full Equip Loadout
or
Dex Booster loadout (4 item) ----> Dex helm and leather loadout (target gear) ----> Manually equip bow
