After 3/4 years of retirement from pvp, honor pvp looks very promising.

Ever since shield pets (nekro, glow) were introduced, followed by speed sets and awakenings, pvp became more gear centric rather than player centric, making it a lot less enjoyable. Old school pvp was the best simply because how you played mattered a lot more than what gear and pets you have. Great micro and macro plays were super rewarding, and mistakes were a lot more punishing as players did not have the shields, speed and armor awakenings to save them. Without speed sets, the slower game pace enables players to focus more on their decision-making, and also gives players with worse ping less of a disadvantage.
