    Default The Future Of Testing

    I’m just gonna be very straight forward with this since the drop of the new 81s there has been a lot of talk whether it be about how good or how about the weapons or even talk of arcane weapons when mythics have just dropped

    What I think needs to happen going forward is sts you gotta bring back test servers but it doesn’t have to be a full on beta server

    Do a private test server select players from your game get engaged with your community select players who want to help make the game better whether it be by sign up questionnaire however you may want to

    This is just an opinion but i for one loved the beta servers back then they’re no longer around which is fine but I think private test servers with a small group to test upcoming items would be a perfect way to not only talk with your community but help the game

    current game testing is insufficient… need to invest more to avoid issues we got on mythic weap and others.

    To be fair the devs (Cinco) have been open with us lately BUT;

    I think the community has become the post beta testing field that does the most to correct imbalance lately
    This does not need to be so if we do get a player beta test to work out the kinks that the devs can’t

    I’m not insulting with that remark, I’m saying hundreds + can run substantially more maps than can a handful of devs
    That’s not to mention that we naturally seek out broken mechanics because we have the incentive to make $ a dev can’t have

    I’d only add that do not make it an exclusive ability to run maps n provide feed back! No favoritism- more info the better

    Scientific rigor is only boosted by more data

    I agree with you. Many of us bought the mythic staff for 150m+ and they waited 2 weeks to adjust it. No compensation which I expected but why make us wait for so long?

    Those weapon required less than 1 minute of actual ingame testing for one to notice they are broken
    And i doubt they didn't test that at all. An old saying says: you can't wake someone whos pretending to sleep

    But who am I to blame? If you bought those weapon when it's clearly broken, means you don't really
    care about gold and taking the risk of having one early

    Im not saying that releasing immaturly is something that should be praised for.
    But you are the one who bite the hook, when there isn't even a bait on it

    Yes I will say I have spent over 400m to have the weapons early to test and get the feedback out to sts day one paid 165m for daggs now are -100m is it my fault yes but did I wanna get that feedback out there that lead to a change yes I did which is why we need proper testing done by not only the devs but us to like other games do yes this is there game but you can just be your own thing forever learn from others and advance

    Agreed, but in order to “test that weapon for less than a minute” it could have cost one a lifetime in savings to be able to do so

    Don’t blame ppl for looking at the proc stats when the devs could have arrived at the understanding that the procs were messed up 2-3 weeks ago!!

    True, and i edited my post to make my stand more clearly, releasing immaturely was clearly
    a choice done by the development team. For some... well, reasons that are deeper than
    what it seems. By itself it sounds wrong but those who went for it
    kinda knew its coming too. Regardless, i do expect a safe warranty of my weapon not
    going to trash overnight after released later on.

    Let the community test the weapons and provide feedback before its actual release. This will make possible adjustments easier to implement and saves your time of having to deal with cry threads you know?

    Nahhhhh...they do it for a reason. Make those weapon op asf and player get excited opening locked spending hard earn money..
    2 weeks later nerf it and repeat.
    Profit oriented.

    When sts had players testing, many of those players exploited info to their advantage, and was able to capitalize off of their knowledge of what they saw in the testing fields. IF STS was to implement testing items/events/maps it should be community wide to keep all players aware of possible changes.

    I agree with this I only say private because I don’t want to just say oh sts bring back open beta testing they mind not have the funds for either idk what’s going on behind the scenes and I only hope for the best

    I’d love for the community to test new items/events/maps. I think community feedback already helps exponentially, but if feedback was gathered prior to release we wouldn’t need nerfs/buffs a week later. This would make new item prices less volatile; no one wants to find out their new item is worth half as much as they paid for it a week later, just because there was an insufficient amount of testing prior to release.

    Make a testing room, in this room, the player is able to select what item s/he wants to try out (there would be a list with every item available for the player's lvl to choose), against what enemy s/he wants to try with, set the enemy lvl, player stats (stats could be selected by gaps of 100primary stats and 10% of any other Stat like bd, ed, raw dmg, etc) and, if want to test from a PvP point of view, set the stats and class of the test dummy.
    This way there would be no problem with selected tester players taking advantage since it won't be a private test server but an actual in game feature.
    As for new content releases like events, expansions and updates the mobs/bosses of these situations can be added to the enemy list on the test room advertising their addition so players can test and provide feedback.
    I suggested a similar idea called "Trial Cave" in a thread for the new expansion and this concept could be adjusted just as well for a efficient testing.
