Ugly and rare doesn’t equal value. Ask those Sand aura owner/seller how quickly and deeply the price dropped.

Bound doesn’t have zero value , value is not always related to gold, it’s even more valuable than any of the vanities purchasable through gold, tradable vanities can be purchased by anyone at anytime, just by spending money in the game , while the wearer of bound vanities have actually something rare , that no one can get unless they worked hard for it , that’s the main difference.

Ugly and rare does have value , sand aura slowly becoming less rarer coz it’s always available in rahab , while if there are real rare items in events that stop dropping after event end & retain value & even rise in price. You can take for example bug face helm , it’s worth around 2b or more now , even though it’s literally the ugliest helm in the game , just because it’s rare it’s valued at that price . There are always people who like to collect rare items & show them off .

I think u haven’t thought of it well , but devs know a lot of stuff better than players know .
