Not to mention the cut out convo to look like it's something illegal. But we can all see it says "30m but in rupees". Who would spend 30m rupees in AL? Obviously, trolling. But hey! The fault finder saw opportunity and boom, made himself popular! I wonder if they just join Bellum to find the opportunity to ruin reputation. Sheesh! And people wonder why we're weary of spies... smh
Bellum is the largest top level guild currently in arlor with over 3k members, and is a large target for scammers and the like to try to take advantage. However. We are very, very vigilant to this, want to keep our guild a fun and safe environment, and do not hesitate to kick, ban, and report scammers, gold or item sellers. Doing this, denying these people the opportunity to do business here, upsets them. They post anonymously, impersonate, they troll, start rumors and lie outright We have a ban list in the literal hundreds, of people that dont fit what Bellum is, a non toxic, helpful and fun guild to all. If you are looking for the kind of environment where the officers and myself actually care about what happens to people in the guild, treat people fairly and with respect, then this is the place to be. Anyone else. Can be someplace else. Good hunting, and good luck!
On a brighter note! Within the last 48 hours, we have given away over 200m in pure to members through games, contests, and overall silliness (Elwyn you rock and istg prolly a girl) xd. Ran an easy half a dozen sets of people through explosive aps. Carried peeps in hedo. Just another day in Bellum.
Come join us! There is a reason lots of other guilds dont like us and love to tt us in their gc...Cuz we are the best, and they cant compete
Yes, Empressfury, I think the smiley :3 after the "but in rupees" line is intended to flag the comment as a joke. It is unfortunate that at least one person took it seriously, causing them incorrectly to accuse Bellum of condoning real-world transactions. My experience is the opposite: earlier today, I know of one instance of someone who joined & offered to sell in-game gold for real-world money in guild chat — and was instantly kicked and placed on the guild banned list for it! That's the true Bellum culture at work: zero tolerance for that. I would not be so proud to be an officer here if it were not so. Yes, we're helpful; but before that, a safe environment.
Hi everyone,
I've heard rumours that some members are complaining that they can't find a
party.
Please note:
1. no-one, not even officers, is obliged to help you;
2. simply because someone is an officer doesn't mean that they are strong
enough to help you or to carry you; officers are voted in for their
contribution to the guild, not for the strength of their characters;
3. op players will tend to help when they have free time, but not always —
they have their own game to play & characters to develop too;
4. op players are often busy running fast parties, especially if they are
running count-down-everywhere elixirs or elixirs that are specific to
certain zones; they may not have time to check guild chat often;
5. op players may already have a full party that they're helping;
6. please ask to run in zones that suit your strength; don't expect others to
carry you (unless it's super quick like fly & hydra) — if they are
offering to carry, they will say so;
7. please make your request specific: where do you need help, and which
quest do you need? Or are you asking for help farming? If farming,
farming for what, specifically?
8. from my experience, farming help seems less likely than quest help;
9. be aware of time zones: if you're asking to party when there are few
players online, the odds are against you.
Basically, while we do try to help, don't expect a party at your convenience.

Hi everyone,
I've heard rumours that some members are becoming annoyed that they don't receive responses in guild chat, whether it's a question or even if it's just hello. I understand; sometimes I'm annoyed too. I'd like to share how I deal with it; perhaps it may help as a guideline — or not: take these merely as suggestions, not requests.
1. Don't forget that AL is a global game & that some people find
communicating in English difficult, even daunting.
2. Players are often afk (away from keyboard), so don't expect the number of
guild members logged on to actually reflect the number who are actively
reading guild chat.
3. Guild chat can be really fast at times & it's easy to lose any single
message among the rest, especially if I need to scroll back a long way to
catch up on what I've missed. I imagine that it's the same for others, so
they may inadvertently miss my questions or other messages. I try not to
take it personally.
4. Many players are likely too busy to check guild chat often, especially if
they're running fast parties. When they've finished & have time to check
guild chat, they may scroll back only a few screens, assuming that earlier
questions have been answered already. I re-post my question, but not more
than once per screen — otherwise I may be annoying others with spam.
5. The more chatty I am, the more messages I'm putting out, the more attention
I draw to myself, the less likely I am to be overlooked & the more likely
that someone will reply, even if it's "Sorry, I don't know."
6. I myself always try to scroll back & answer any question that hasn't already
been answered, even if I'm saying "Sorry, I don't know." I can't expect
others to do it if I don't do it myself, right? I'd suggest you do so too.
7. It may surprise you, but I'm quite shy in real life. I try to make my AL
personality much more outgoing, the way I'd like to be in real life, but
sometimes my real personality asserts itself & I'm not in the mood to
communicate. I assume that sometimes others aren't in the mood to chat
either — but I make an effort nevertheless to chat anyway, even if only a
little. I'd suggest you make an effort too.
8. I try to be courteous, considerate & fun when I chat; that way other
guild members want to answer my questions. Personally, I think that it's
a good strategy, in whatever way suits you, to think of how you can
encourage other guild members to want to answer your questions. It's
psychology, right?
9. Much guild chat is about merch, asking prices & the like, but I"m not a
mercher, so I can't participate at all — nevertheless, I don't let that
deter me or stop me chatting anyway, even if it's merely silly fun nonsense
cat jokes. Personally, I think that it helps to lighten the mood. Even if
you're not a mercher, please chat! Personally, I'd love it if there were a
higher proportion of silliness & fun in guild chat. Please feel free to
contribute!
10. Having said that, do be careful & think twice before posting humour: can it
be misinterpreted? Might it offend someone? If it does, I suggest that
you apologise immediately rather than trying to defend your position. Then
the entire issue disappears and everyone forgets about it. If you argue,
then generally things get worse — and at least some people won't want to
answer your questions or communicate with you.
11. If I don't receive a reply in guild chat to a serious question, I ask the
same question in guild Discord. That way my question stays persistent &
can be answered later by someone knowledgeable, who may not be online now.
In my view, the general rule of thumb is that if you want replies, then initiate chat more often yourself! I do hope that that helps![]()
Once again i can see u care abt this guild and u try guiding in a proper way of co existance
I make exactly same points in my guild for many seasons. Most of ppl wont bother to reply in a question cause they dont know the answer. The part of "sorry i dont no" or "sorry no idea" makes a serious diference in gchat,showing that ppl care.
What i have done amd i suggest u do it to share this in ur oficer chat. Oficers cannot ignore this.If oficers start doing this then the rest of the guild will follow.
Cheers
Well thts a whole novel to read. 🤣 👍
Do I need to become a professional belly dancer to be promoted?

In Bellum, officers are expected to lead by example & to inspire members to good behaviour & to create a safe, fun community. Officer culture is collaborative & major decisions, like kicking a member, usually are made after consultation with one another. You'll need Discord to post screen shots as evidence of member behaviour, and to keep up to date with guild rules & other updated information, e.g. the "banned list" of those who've proven by their behaviour that they're toxic & aren't welcome.
New officer positions are filled by voting among existing officers. The strength of your character or characters makes no difference. If you've impressed the current officers with your behaviour (e.g. helping weaker members in maps, consistently increasing your Achievement Points & also contributing to guild chat in a courteous, informative, helpful & light-hearted way) and you're also consistent in visibly upholding the guild rules & culture, then you've a good chance.
However, there are almost always more candidates than there are new positions available, so even if you are a good candidate, it still may take several rounds of application, consideration & voting before you're promoted.
Officers can be demoted if they become a poor example to members (e.g. temper tantrums, trolling, insulting behaviour or "humour" at a member's expense), or if they abuse their power, or for insufficient participation (e.g. not logging in for days or weeks without prior notice, or not contributing to guild chat or being helpful when they are online).
Please let me know if you've further questions.![]()
Thank you so much Papas! It makes such a difference that you and others are replying to my posts here on this forum. It means that my work posting here is not wasted. Your positive feedback is even more encouraging!
Yes, I agree that officers must lead by example. Thank you for your suggestion; we do regularly use our officer chat channel on Discord also, to remind officers to reply at least, "Sorry, I don't know," (among other reminders).
I thought that the general membership might find it helpful not only to take up that reply "I don't know" procedure themselves, but also to gain a better perspective of how guild chat actually works in practice. Real life mechanics is always far less than the ideal case, and it's no-one's fault.![]()
niceeeeeeee
