visual effects. think of the trailing things, waves, leaves, etc. kinda effects around auras. or the golden ring when you wear the full zaarus set. they are all vfx. in very technical terms, even the flares from a mage's fireball is vfx, but i think what op means is the flashy, more visually appealing effects of the vanities.
