I didn't get the Snow Shovel from Esai and now I can't get in to talk to him. I can talk to him somewhere else.

You're not at the tip top (you need Platinum Tier). Since you were able to talk to Esai without being at Platinum Tier, I'll consider removing the tier requirement.

Ok, Platinum Tier. Tiptop gives you the Snow Shovel. You could put a shovel near him to make it easier to guess this.
