Honestly, I get what you’re trying to say, but I think you’re missing the point. Sure, more platinum for less money seems like a win, but what’s actually happening is the value of platinum is dropping like a rock. The market will get flooded, and that ‘extra platinum’ everyone gets just means the platinum-to-gold exchange rate will skyrocket. In other words, it’s not ‘easier to get platinum,’ it’s just easier to spend more to get the same stuff.
You also said platinum-only items should be cheaper. Yeah, maybe in some fantasy world where the economy works that way, but here’s the reality: More platinum doesn’t mean more buying power. It means prices on platinum-only items go up, because more platinum just makes everything more expensive. The economy won’t magically balance out because of this change.
At the end of the day, players, especially casual ones, will just need to buy more platinum to keep up, which is exactly what the game is not supposed to be about. But hey, if you think this change is going to ‘improve’ things, I’m curious to see how well it works out when everything costs more and people are spending even more real money just to stay in the game. But, sure, you do you.
