Hey Anishavie,
We're aware of this issue and are attempting to track it down. Unfortunately, pets behave sometimes ... awkwardly.
Try disciplining him and letting him know that he'll be a hover dinner if he's not careful.
pets do tricksall mine have had the newspaper holocron discipline because of poopies in my guild hall

In all seriousness, there are a few things you can try to get him to re-orient himself. Leaving the area, or, try un-equipping and re-equipping him. See if that re-sets his orientation on the ground.
