I was trying hard to think of a way to auto-educate young warriors - some sort of in-game tutorial when they first learn the skill, maybe? Even in the form of a special quest for warriors which gives them a good item when complete? E.g. an NPC shows them how it's done properly, then they get to try themselves. Even if they fail in the beginning, they still see the "image" of the correct way to do it.

Edit 1: Anyway, my point is that this would not be possible with the current "pull distance" of low skill level beckon.

In-game feedback is always an alternative, but it often backfires lol.

Edit 2: Fluff, just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting changing the power of pulls for all skill levels. That would probably create chaos However, it could be changed only for lower skill levels. I recently tried beckoning with just a few skill points and found that it's useless. Also, it probably gives new players a false impression of how beckon should be used. Maybe it's better if people get more power earlier so that they mess up at lower level dungeons and learn to control it before they reach endgame.

Not sure how this change would affect PvP balance though. Experienced low level PVPers would probably be able to answer this.

Anyway, interested in hearing your thoughts guys.

Went to Forest Manor with Kraze (thanks bro for letting me sling ya!), and respecced my bear. Here is what we found:

At levels 1-3, the pull distance was relatively the same. Very minute (2-3m) and were never the same distance.

The pull distance between 4-5 were noticeably different from 1-3 but no two pulls were of equal distance.

Levels 6-7 obviously pulled further (and I was able to pull him past me multiple times), yet were inconsistent. Some pulls didn't reach me, some were exactly 12m, and some were past me.

So, though pulling distance does increase incrementally, it is false to say it is based on exact levels. Unlike auto-attack distance, beckon pull distance is way to sporadic to give a definitve pull distance per level. The only exacts are: 1. Inicrease in damage per level, and 2. Beckon range is 12m.
After seeing my poor bird tossed like a rag doll ( not convinced crim didn't somehow conspire this entire thread just to throw me around) I can verify without doubt pull distance is not set. It appears that just like any skill there is a min and a max to how effective the magnet effect
    Just my 2 plat

So 1 beckon pulls as much as 4 beckon..? o.o...

Then my bear must be bugged :O.. Whatever..

IF you have many points on slashes, you should get a good high (5-6) beckon cuz it "seems" to be pulling you closer than 1 beckon :/.. If you just want to pull him a lil' bit towards you + running to him dodging, using crush, auto and slash, you better get low beckon, just to taunt him :O

I really though most points on beckon meant stronger pull ..

PS : Kraze, sorry for making you tossed by the Crim-inal.. :/

Actually this is not far from what's happening. Imagine that you have a rope tied to each enemy. The rope has length = 12m. Now, think that you suddenly pull the rope just once, the more powerful you are the more distance the enemy travels. Same with beckon, if you beckon at, e.g. skill level = 1 the enemy doesn't move too far, but the distance he moves increases with the skill level. So, more skill = more powerful pull actually. Just the range ( = length of rope ) remains the same.

    PSSSS... Crim-inal trollol
