They might deserve recognition, I'd give that to them as I know it is time consuming. But to award plat IMO is too much. To determine which tourney is a "success" would be in one's opinion. Tournaments are a constant adjustment. In order to complete them you must always make decisions and troubleshoot. Unfortunately circumstances arises whether player created, new caps, gear, etc.
Every tournament i've hosted has had issues. I'd like to hear some suggestions as to how to make these events more successful though.

some players measure success by if they won or not, if he/she did not win it is not a success and they blame everything else, instead of having fun and being a good sport.

Also, with any tournament you enter, there will always be "pros" and "noobs". It's a fact of tourneys. There aren't enough "pros" to fill all 32 spots.

If you entered this tourney for fun, stop being so negative and getting worked up about little things nobody cares about.

Actually I don't, nor do I care. Everybody seems to make you upset, lighten up a little because the majority of your posts are all filled with hatred for no particular reason.

Don't underestimate Imkelly or Mrvietnamese, it's disrespectful to think you're automatically going to win vs her or him.

I honestly think you shouldn't be allowed into more tourneys as I was really hoping that the bear tourney would be like the last one, respectful, but I can see that you lack the sportsmanship to make that happen.

For future reference, to deny an offer, you actually have to let the other party know, otherwise it's not considering denying it but it's progress will be considered pending.
