If you look at stats, there is no long run in games. Releasing a new hit almost always guarantees more money than expansions after expansions for free to play games. So you can see all developers milking it while its hot. Problem with games that dont have plat to gold conversion, there will be massive gold sellers. At least this way, part of the incentive to buy gold illegally is removed. And i can bet the 3percent of players that supports the rest, do convert them to lots of gold.
