    Default Warriors with 190+ dps...

I'm 26 with deep sea gear however I can't break 170 dps.. On the other hand I see level 25 warriors that are already 170+ and some 26's that are 190+. I have 5 points in stength and 5 in damage increase with the other 15 in skyward smash, windmill, horn of renew and vengeful blood. What can I do to make my dps better (gear, talents, spec, etc)?

Gear, build's, and skills affect DPS. Pure strength will provide your warrior with the highest amount of damage. However, don't forget: Damage > DPS.

    Give you example from experience:
Comparing trollbane axe and any shield/sword weapon
Trollbane more damage, less DPS > attack very slow
Shield/sword weapon Less damage, more DPS > attack fast
So actually damage is the one that effecting DPS not DPS effecting damage

Pets affect dmg and dps too. Hazel, ribbit, snaggletooth, malison, wyatt give most str, dmg, dps.
Captain axe of potency 25/26 gives alot too.
To get 190+ you need mythic helm aswell :'(

Yeah i know that but the best weapons with high dps/damage are vorpal and darkwatch then captain axe of potency for lvl26. Auto attack is important for warriors specially in pvp if u know what i mean...

yeah I have top of the line gear as well, Sealord armor of will lvl 26, Sealord helm of grace lvl 26 (+31 str version) and Captain's axe of potency, unbuffed i'm at 186.9 DPS, buffed at 205.2. not sure if you're asking buffed or unbuffed but yeah, with the Mythic warrior helm you can get 190+ unbuffed.

I have lvl 25 deep sea gear, and a ribbit. My dps is 172 ish I believe. Maybe it depends on which accessories you use. Not sure what I have on but I know theyre lvl 25 legendary rings. Oh and the weapon to! I have a lvl 25 captains axe of...potency. I don't know, best of luck to you! Cheers.

I haven't spent very much (yet) and have 200+ dps w/ VB. I still need a sealord of will (or grace) chest piece and have no hope of ever having a helm (spent 200 plat opening chests last night, dumb!).

    26 Captain's Axe
    26 Red Beard Tricorn
    25 Deep Sea Plate
    26 Glowstone warfare
    25 Ame Pendant of tides

all pts in str and 5/5 might

You must have the sealord of will/grace stuff (much better armor #s), I can't afford that stuff until prices drop unfortunately.

i sounds like people here are worried about getting high "DPS" on the avatar screen. DPS = Damage * attacks per second (a/s) of your weapon. 1/(a/s) = attack speed. so your DPS on your avatar page is purely swinging your weapon. You should be looking to max out your Damage (from avatar) because your Skill damage a multiple of your Damage.

Damage * Multiplier = Average Skill Damage

For example my warrior is not 22 and has 116.1 Damage, and 130.6 DPS
Skyward Smash = 189-236 (including the 10% damage upgrade Thundering Hammer)
    Chest Splitter = 172-215
Windmill = 149-186 (not including Blender)
    Axe Throw = 139-174
Vengeful Blood = 147-183 mana per tick
Horn of Renew = 232-290 health per tick

Skyward smash has a 1.66 base or 1.83 (upgraded) modifier
Chest Splitter has a 1.66 modifier
Windmill has a 1.44 modifier or 1.57 (upgraded)
Axe Throw has a 1.35 mod
    Vengeful Blood has a 1.42
Horn of Renew has a 2.25

Then the range of Mix-Max is +/-11% of the average damage. So my Skyward average damage is 212.5 damage. 89%*212.5 = 189 and 111*212.5=236.

So you can test this calculation against your Damage, but when you trying to see which equipment does the most 'total DPS' you have to take into account the Damage effecting your skill damage. Your DPS on the avatar page doesn't play a huge role because that is just a (a/s) speed * average weapon Damage (Damage stat). a lot of your dps comes from your abilities (especially when doing AOE).

You can read a similar discussion to this point in the sorcerer forum

Cosmos, I've seen your awesome game mechanic posts, thanks for that analysis and your others.

Do you have any idea how crits work/scale?

Thanks. Unfortunately i haven't done much testing at all on my Warrior/Rogue for this

For Sorcerers, critical hits do about 130% damage for weapons, and 130-150% damage for skills. Though skills are a lot harder to test because of low crit%, pets killing my target, or pet damage numbers floating over my skill numbers. I would assume these CritDam% would be about the same for other classes (not counting skills that say add x% crit damage or do x% crit damage).
