Is the aforementioned claim true this time? Because prior Egg-zavier years actually did not drop some eggs such as Werewiger or Thog.

Of course it's true - like it was true last time. A special selection does not mean "every egg you're hoping to loot" - it means a "special selection" of great Companion Eggs :-)

Well, the special selection is only true for Arcanite & Heroic eggs, as explicitly implied by the claim - "as well as a selection of HEROIC and ARCANITE eggs"

The contrary, the first bit of the statement - "loot any egg in the game, up to and including Mythics", explicitly implies that all eggs up to Mythics can drop. But this bit wasn't the case in prior Eggstravaganza's.
