i can't stand when people beg for money, it really gets under my skin too Kujen. EVERY game i have ever played, my first goal is to stockpile my own cash through whatever means necessary. be it crafting, gathering, or just plain old fashioned farming.
as far as any game goes, my best method was usually gathering through scouting or in other cases such as games like PL, farming any mobs possible for endless hours...
on the positive side, endless hours of farming lets you get some wonderful stuff to sell for money, lots of money dropped, lots of xp gained, and tons of skill points. IE, i just made a warrior and i spent an hour killing mobs repeatedly, when i was done i had gotten to level 20, had a PILE of skill points to disperse, and about 12,000 gold after i sold everything i collected to the vendor. in my eyes, being self-sufficient is the way to go and works best for me, however for those that love to beg for handouts, if that works for them i say whatever... /ignore lol.
honestly i have no idea how many tens of thousands of gold i've handed out just to shut people up in the past couple days.

I never give out gold...Most beggars will gladly accept your gold and then go on begging others for more. I even saw a lvl 50 begging for gold today. He could easily have gone and killed mobs for a few mins and net a few thousand. Even at lvl 1, you should make enough gold to buy pots and stuff just from liquidating whatever drops.
They don't do it because they need gold, but because it adds up when enough people cave in to them.
