    Default Letter to Spacetime Games

    Hello Spacetime,

First off, i'd like to praise you on some of your most brilliant decisions you have made in the past. Arcane Legends was your official flagship success in the gaming industry, acheiving many awards and world-recognition for your developing company. Pocket Legends was your baby, as it developed a loyal fanbase for your company to branch off into your other mmorpgs, making them even more successful.

Your Legends titles have earned you a fantastic community of loyal gamers, mmo enthusiasts, and socialites alike. Many players have gained life-long relationships thanks to you. You had created euphoric escapes from the real world with exciting gameplay, stunning playability, and virtual playgrounds full of fun interactions with incredible hospitality from your friendly staff.

Arcane Legends, as i stated before, is your most exemplary game to date. When this title was released, your graphics amazed a lot of your loyal fans as well as attracted a larger player-base. Everything was new and exciting for several months after its release. After a while, the game grew a little dull, and what did you do? You created the Tarlok winter event to drive things back up again. Your players had so much fun. Players were free to participate as much as they wished, gaining great, top-notch gear. Best of all, it was completely FREE.

    Now, for the serious stuff...

Pocket Legends was your original money-maker, your first-born child, and your oldest wine in the cabinet. Players were so enthusiastic about the game, spending hundreds if not thousands supporting your company for the growth of the game for years to come. After three years however, you shrugged them off. You created two other titles as well, attracting other fanbases from sci-fi geeks to blood-loving freaks. All for one game. Yes, Arcane Legends.

I myself am a strong supporter for your company and desire nothing more for your company as well as the community to thrive and become a populous of happy players. You need to wake up! Listen to your players! They know what they want, and most of them want to see something new! Halt the expansions and content for awhile and listen to us!

The purpose behind this message was not to bash your company, but to provide constructive criticism on what seems obvious to your players. If you keep going down this same, straight road, i'm not sure if AL will last another year or two. Please take this into consideration and have your planning department stop and think "let's see what YOU GUYS (the players) want".

Other threads depicting players' thoughts about your current company standing:

What can rly draw people back? And also new players?
Al is just like a old guild with a huge quantity of members and nearly noone online, it needs first a cool event to draw back the old guys then a revision that can draw in new players and keep the old ones active. IMHO.

There are hundreds of suggestions the options are limitless.

Thankfully somebody has to say this. I'm already prepared for their next title and the ones that come after that. It's hard to commit knowing how the cycle seems to make sense.

Yes, it needs something new and exciting like Tarlok was at its time. Like how some of the older players returned to PL for a bit when their mini-cap was released.

That's the sad truth. History tends to repeat itself and with STS frequently throwing around new games like this, it's hard to predict how far one of them will go and whether or not it's worth it to spend the time and money on the game.

I'm still on board in AL, but at the same time am waiting for events / updates. The arena was by far the worst update yet!

Tarlok was the most fun community wise when portals weren't nerf'd.

Ursoth's event was awesome in that it gave you dova bears and locked crate crafting even when you don't try for leaderboard.

Overall the game I think is still doing fine for the poorer to middle class. The elite rich will always find it hard to stay interested as they already have everything!

    Hey gang,

We have a ton of stuff in work for you. Soon I will be posting the October Producer's Letter that will detail what's happening. If you haven't read previous updates, check out September at: http://www.spacetimestudios.com/show...mp-Next-Client

The fact of the matter is that everything goes through cycles. Right now the Planar Arena is missing its other half and some great end game farming and action with the Planar Tombs. Also, back to school is typically a slower time for online gaming as many players find the have less disposable free time than they did over the summer. It's ok. That's just part of life. The honest reality is that there are 10's of thousands of new people that come into Arcane Legends daily and thousands and thousands more who come back to play every day. While things may be changing for you, I can say that Arcane Legends has a very healthy following.

    I hope that helps.

    Sam,

It would be nice if STS responded to suggestion threads more often. Players here have a lot of good ideas, and regardless of what your stats may be telling you, I can tell you what I see in my guild. Activity level is at an all-time low. Interest in elite maps is also at an all time low and is limited to Jagged Trail, Caves and the occasional Wilds run (assuming players even want to bother running due to poor loot rate, stagnant market, etc.) . Loot rate is as bad as I've ever remembered, all the way around, elite, supergems, crates, arena, you name it.

Arena, while beautiful is not profitable, and to be honest, the non-stop K.O.'s get a bit tedious, which causes all but the most hardcore to give up on it (therefore, not many are farming there).

The market overall has come to a standstill, everyone is just hoarding their gold at the moment, because no one knows what is going on, when the Halloween event will come, etc. The loot coming from the arena and elite Tindirin is generally inferior to the Druid/Spirit gear, so for the most part, farming is a fruitless endeavor, since Druid/Spirit is plentiful and relatively cheap.

Just take a look at the Elite (Pure) LB. There are a surprising number of solo/duo recordholders. This is an obvious indication of end-game apathy.

Honestly, there is nothing to farm for. Vials are basically non-existent. Magma is worthless (except for one version of the Claymore and Totem). Locked Crates are so undervalued, that the worst case of 2k x 3 actually is worth more than the crate itself, so crate farmers are hurting. All the way around, veterans of this game are hurting and losing interest. Tindirin has been around for over six months now, which is a really, really long time. Granted, there were two events since the introduction of the Dragon Enclave, but still, these maps have been overfarmed and something new needs to be introduced. An OHKO Arena isn't really the solution we were all looking for.

Sam, what we need to see is something exciting, something that reinvigorates the market, something that gets folks running once again, something new to talk about. It just seems that there has been a lot of errors in the game lately, a lot of rebalancing, a lot of second guessing and all that does is cause hesitation in your veteran gamer pool. In down times like these, I would have hoped that there would have been more consideration for your veteran population, more transparency, more responsiveness to good suggestions, and less "there are 10's of thousands of new people....". I'd be willing to bet that a considerable portion of those 10's of thousands are people like me, that set up a new account to play a different class, try out some different builds, then eventually discard the toon. Transient players don't really add anything to the community, so using those statistics is akin to saying that your veterans, those that started at the lv16 cap, that grew along with the game, rallied to the defense of the community, contributed a lot to what we have here, are of equal value to those that will likely be here for a just few days.

Well said! I had to lol at the "healthy following" statement they really have no clue what's going on. Things are changing for everyone.. I can't imagine entering this game now as a brand new player and staying. What keeps most of us here now is the bond with our friends/guildmates and the hope that things will CHANGE for the positive.

    It is a excellent idea
