can't get arbiter chest at 41

I just capped and I can't get my arbiter chest. it worked fine for my engi tho...... I've tried logging out and in and restarting the app.

hmmmmm....... don't ask me why this worked, but i stashed my arbiter helms and then i was able to get my chest piece. i guess it's still technically a bug, but at least there is a temporary work around.

is what u asked what u were "so tempted" to ask? lol. well, I first I logged out then in, then I closed the app and opened it, then I reset my iPad. I did everything short of unistalling and reinstalling it out of sheer laziness, but I was going to today. I was chatting in b* wit a friend at 4am and decided to liquidate and mess around wit my "chillin outfit" and I saw I had all my arbiter helms from all my toons stashed on sniper. I didn't see y it would matter, but decided to stash them since I just finished OCDing my stash (yeah I just made that word, I like it). lucky me I guess, for some reason, that was grinding my gears more than not getting heals from engis was.

and for how long, I guess 12 hours from when I capped. it was on my mind all day even tho I wasn't in game all day.

Every attempt of mine to get this to break has been foiled, meaning, I can't reproduce the issue at all. This is with a freshly leveled 41 character.

I've also not seen any other accounts of this happening to other players. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen; it just means it's not a widespread issue.

i wish i could tell you :-(

all i know is i had about 6 arbiter helms on sniper, and went to get the chest and couldn't. i don't even know how it popped into my head to stash them, guess i just figured that since you can't get a helm while you have one in your inventory but could when it was stashed, i would stash the helm and see if for some reason the game was recognizing my arbiter helm as a chest. if this was the case, it would think i already had a chest and wouldn't give me one. i took the screenies bc i thought it was really weird. i'm about to head out for a bit, but when i get back i will try to get a chest with just one arbiter helm in my inventory and see what happens. i'll play around with it and see if it anything changes depending on which class the helm is. i'm guessing it's pretty minor in the overall scheme of things, so if nobody else is reporting this problem, and since it's a non-issue for me anymore, i'd hate for you to waste too much time looking into it. Thanks for checking, i'll let you know what i come up with when i'm back.

The NPC is probably doing a count of Arbiter items in your inventory instead of checking specifically if you have the Arbiter chest item.

Even though having more than one Arbiter helm in inventory isn't an exploit, it might not be a scenario that was accounted for. But, if it's counting instead of looking specifically for the chest item, other ramifications may result. For instance, someone who didn't get the Arbiter helm but did manage to make elite L41 might be able to get two Arbiter chest pieces (before stashing).

That's all I can think of that might be causing the issue. But that's just a guess.

ok, here's an update.....

with just one op helm, i'm able to get chest
with 2 op hemls, i am able to get chest
with 2 op helms, 1 engi helm, 1 com helm, i am unable to get the chest (i get the same message as i did in my original screenie)
with 2 op helms, 1 com helm, i am able to get the chest
with 2 op helms, 1 engi helm, i am able to get the chest
with 4 op helms, i am able to get the chest.
with 1 of each class helm, i am unable to get the chest (i get the same message as i did in my original screenie)

soooooo do what u will with that info, idk y i can't get the chest if i have 1 of each helm from all three classes in my inventory, but take note, the message does't say that i already have a chest piece, but that i need to work my way to 41.

let me know if you would like me to try any other combinations of helms or throw the engi chest in there to see what happens.

yup, although i snagged a few before doing this test..... now i have WAY more than i have op alts to give to if i ever get them to 41.... maybe you can trow a xray visor in my stash for me and take a couple out? lol, good luck fixing, and i'll keep an eye out for this on the next cap raise.

Louchie just capped so i did another "test."

again, if i had all three classes of arbiter helms in my inventory, i got this response:


i stashed the helms, not realized i had an arbiter plate from my engi on this toon for some reason, and i got this response:

I had one arbiter plate, not one for engi and one for op. I got this response even when i stashed my engi arbiter plate and picked up my op arbiter plate. So it seems having any arbiter plate in you inventory prevents you from getting one.

I already knew the work around for this so it was easy for me to resolve. consider this an FYI post

glad to hear, i wasn't sure if you guys were aware of the arbiter chest issue as well, so i decided to post it. looking forward to the next enxpansion! Actually, i wanna level my pvp toons, don't rush on releasing it!
