    Because they could not get it to function properly.
    Not only were players such as GoAs and AoAs apparently abusing/receiving more respect (and this led to players falsely brandishing their helpful qualities on forums to be invited), but it was more that the whole AoA program broke down.
    You notice that players do not care about anything said as much as it being said by a Developer.
    The only times that scammers or cursing people may actually feel threatened is when a character with a red name is openly warning them.
    Similarly, the only time anyone may be interested in any event or party is if it is Developer-hosted and approved.

    AoA attempted multiple and various activities for the general PL community with all kinds of tastes and formats, yet only the ones hosted by the AoA Developer leader were largely successful.
    That along with the rather debated recruitment of new AoAs led to a long predictable breakdown in the system.

    The GoA shutdown was also of similar nature.
    I won't explain that further, but you can expect the same reasons more or less.
