Mana Shield problems in Sewers

Has anyone noticed that Mana Shield does not seem to work at times when fighting in the sewers? For instance, in the bank vault, I zoned in and was immediately attacked. I put up my MS and died within a few seconds with a full bar of mana.

On the bandit stronghold level, I will also receive health damage when my MS is up. It only appears to happen in the new sewer campaign areas and not the rest of Alterra.

I've seen this as well...I thought I might have been mistaken, since it hasn't killed me yet. I should take a closer look at this.

MS has that slight delay, I've noticed. Not massive, just that split second where if you use it a bit too tight, it doesn't work.

For the stronghold level, only way I can see it not working is the barrels blowing it off.

Magic Shield has a slight delay after casting. I've mentioned this in a few threads, but I don't know if this is how it is meant to be or it just hasn't been seen by Devs.

I too noticed that sometimes fire traps damage me after I just put up the mana shield. I assumed it's just because the mana shield takes a second to kick in, but I'm really not sure.

No, no, no...this is different. This is HP damage 4 and 5 seconds after MS has been cast. I know about the delay.

Edit: I am heading in to investigate. I'll post back here in a few minutes.

Something is definitely up. It's not that I'm taking damage while MS is up...it's that the mobs seem to somehow have the ability to remove it from me prematurely. Can someone help me confirm this...I do NOT want everyone to think that I'm going nuts (mostly myself). I just watched it fall in 6 seconds, and then in 7 fighting assorted trash.

Maybe this is why there's so much H/s on the crafted gear, eh?

Edit: Just went back in...I think it's the bird mobs that do it. There was an audible chuckle just now in game when it happened...4 seconds in and my Mana Shield was GONE.

Archer mobs can blast your mana shield, taking it down.

And no there is still no reason for H/s on mage.

I wondered about that... thought I was going crazy or it was a glitch of some kind that my mana shield wouldn't last more than a few seconds some times.

Your mana shield takes a few seconds to activate so you end up dieing before your shiled is up

I did noticed that too.. the mana shield being up for more than a couple of seconds and then i get an attack and all mu HP goes to 0 but my mana is intact.. i understand the archers may have a way to penetrate the shield... but to fully brake the effect would not make sense...

ohhh I also realised the bird mobs are deadly. Now I know that its because they can break my shield. cool~ usually I need to spam my health pot when facing 3 bird mobs.

The archer mobs use Blast Shot, and just like when fighting an archer in PvP, it completely deactivates your mana shield.
