I like running through a group of people, while I'm on my way to grab a heart, tapping swarm, and seeing four kills pop up on the list for practicallly doing nothing.

To answer your question about max targets, each skill has a set range. If the enemies are not within the range your skill won't affect them.

LOL. I just noticed that I don't really have good rat pics. I've seen some in action but apparently not enough for good screenshots.

OTOH, bats underground sure are cool!
