(Most) int mages can be nuked if you hit blinding right off (-hit + dodge works very well). I usually do blinding-blast-break-root-thorn wall-repulse. If they don't die by the time you get to repulse, though, you probably won't win (due to debuff wearing off+skills cooling down).
Even with all the pre-planning, you still need Lady Luck on your side to win.
