A new event for the Winter Holidays is In Development for Arcane Legends, titled: Tarlok's Wrath. An overpowering force is poised to descend upon Arlor. Dark winds swirl around Mount Spyr and distant shrieks echo across its frozen glacier fields. Will the Heroes of Arlor be ready to face this new challenge?

Players will travel to the top of Mount Spyr to help the people of Frozen Hope face this new, malevolent power that is rolling over the land like the winter snow. The Tarlok's Wrath content is planned to go live in December. We will have more details and updates as the content becomes final and is ready to show off.

Tarlok's Wrath will include:


A suite of new daily quests
New Weapons, Armor and Vanities
New uses of Crafting
New Pets to collect
Unique new boss fights to overcome

Crafting to improve your Item Chests
In Tarlok's Wrath, there will be a series of new Winter Event theme'd Chests that contain some of the possible new items involved with the event. There are multiple tiers of these chests (bronze, silver, gold, etc.). During the event, it will be possible to take multiple lower level chests and combine them to make a chest of the next tier up. For example, take a number of Bronze Winter Event Chests and combine them to make a Silver Winter Event Chest. This will allow you to make progress toward obtaining the items you want, regardless of what Chests drop for you.

Update: Dec. 3rd - Vanities and Launch Timing
We are planning for the Tarlok's Wrath content to go live on Monday, Dec. 9th around mid day, Central US Time.

Regarding winter vanities, there will the return of the Winter vanities from last year, with a slightly different dark red color, named the "Winter's Rage" set. There will also be new vanities for each class. The green Arlor set for the Rogue, the Christmas Tree Sorcerer vanity and the Red Arlor vanity set for the Warrior will not return this year.

Nope!

Here's why. Because the event is going to be for all levels, and all players have a chance to gather these chests from level 10+, we had to disallow the trading and stashing of these chests so that players can not farm at level 10, and then open at level 36 or vice versa. It prevents a very ugly situation wherein exploits would run rampant.

As part of making the event fun for everyone, we had to make this hard decision.

yes yes yes. New player (fresh new) cant go to pve map due to too many essences, full inventory. So they probably walking around in town and gave up their day in AL without knowing the reason why they cant go for lvling. I saw this situation by myself.

Arlor vanitys shouldn't come back because that would lower the price and it wouldn't be nothing special.. That won't be good for players that own one of that vanitys. STS should make new SIMILAR vanitys but definetly not the same.

Ofc its drop only from locked, and the drop rate are same with the currently rate otherwise they announced about increasing the drop rate.

I already open almost 1k locked and never get any arcane item, so u can say its about luck, lets pray for it. ;)

A few requests for the Winter festival. I would really love to see them in the coming update.

PETs - Please make *VALKIN* accessible at twink levels (purchasable with platinum) for the festival. No pet should be inaccessible just because of level range. Or can we have a exclusive platinum pet Santa Claus or Unicorn ( we should have unicorn pets! :D ) with valkin's exact stats?

VANITY - Please give us some COLOURFUL VANITY. I would love to see bright PINK or yellow. Can we have new hairstyles (preferable a swept back long ponytail like Laracroft lol )?

It's 25 slots, for 100 tokens... 10 days of playing the game to double your original 25 inventory slots. Seems fair to me.

dude... you guys told everyone they would be returning. We have proof from your posts. ALOT of people sold theres for cheaper then they should be because they didnt want to lose out on there hard earned money because they would become 100k when there worth millions. So true... but on the other hand, making promises and not keeping them is an easy way to alienate people. To be honest, this isn't new and isn't the first time. I don't mind introducing new vanities. That's wonderful. I do mind being told something for many months, and then being told "Well we like these better(which is an opinion, just like my own) so we just aren't going to do what we promised because we changed our mind"

I made a decision months ago to not spend gold on the Arlors, as I KNEW they were coming back this Christmas because STS said they were. I absolutely LOVE the old Arlor sets. I was very much looking forward to them this Christmas. If I had been told Sts would change their mind, I would have bought them with gold, and enjoyed them all this time.

Again, this is all me, I speak for Noone else.

You guys gotta stop making your plans based on what is posted in the forum. Nothing is ever certain until it happens. Keep that in mind starting today. The forum can sometimes give you ideas, but STS changes their minds a lot. That is how it has always been going back to the Pocket Legends days.

Often times the posts here are just what they are thinking and they are trying to gauge the opinion of the players. So when they post "last year's vanities are coming back" and then everyone posts "No!!! don't do it, I want my tree set to stay discontinued", then STS may change their plan based on that.

So if you want to be safe, never trust that anything they post is for certain until it happens. Otherwise you may get burned.

I would hardly call that new per se, its just new in the sense that it's a new color, but meh I don't really care for it anyway so no real loss there.

But I will give you credit on the real new holiday gear, it's spectacular, but tbh I too am kinda disappointed that the old holiday gear isn't making a comeback in light of your repeated confirmations that it would be. I looked forward to it, such a pity and a low blow.

It's not a leap to believe something. A dev commented in a thread that last years christmas vanities would be back. If there's an error on ur guys part it's not that the ideas aren't communicated to use well, it's that you failed to communicate internally.

And I know for sure I read it in a thread. I just don't feel like searching through pages and pages to find it. Basically because I didn't have any of these vanities and wasn't affected by it. I'm sure others will do the digging tho. haha.

Tons of ideas and suggestions. They released it exactly how it was originally presented. Maybe some minor tweaks idk, but nothing major, and nothing taken from the masses. Its all show mate.. Took a year to separate digits with a comma, no matter how many people got scammed or how many people begged...a YEAR.

We totally get that some people would like for old stuff to not come back. However, on the other side of that coin, there are a lot of new players who would enjoy seeing those cool previous items come back. So we want to clearly set the expectation that old stuff will come back.

We do have plans for a lot of cool new stuff, but we also have plans to bring back old looks. Just like next year Halloween, you can expect to see some 2013 looks come back. Grimm will likely be back in 2014. Just like for Valentine's day, Big Love and Little Love will likely return.

So you used this information (that you thought was true) to try to rip someone else off by selling them a vanity that they thought was discontinued for more money than it would have been worth.

So now that it turns out not to be true, you are angry. You are like a stock trader who thought they had inside information, acted on that information, and now is upset because the information turns out to not be true.

This has been going on for the 2 years that I've been playing STS games. You cannot trust that anything they say in the forums is what is going to happen for sure. They post tentative plans in the forum, and then when people complain about those plans, they change them accordingly. When Sam posted that last year's vanities would come back, many players who bought those discontinued vanities for millions of gold complained about this and said that if anything they should come back with the color changed, or not at all. So STS changed their plan. It happens, so you better get used to it.

If you want to have some influence on events, then post in the forum regularly, and make good arguments to your points. STS may listen. But pointing out that you personally lost a bit of gold because you tried to profit on someone else's ignorance (or so you thought) is not a good argument.

I for one am happy about the decision of the developers on the Christmas vanities. It is nice to have a little variety in the game, and the winter festival would be a little boring if they just reintroduced the same vanities. It is nice to have some new vanities and not to have everyone wearing the same thing. Sorry for all of you who lost a lot of money speculating on these items. They did say that the vanities from last year would return in some form, and they did not make any specific statements about what would return and how it would return. They did not break their word as at least one of the vanities from the last winter festival did return in an altered form, just not the ones you were expecting and/or hoping for. Interestingly enough, most people hated the arlor tree suit when it came out last year and mocked me for wearing it. It is funny how things change ;)

In reviewing my posts, I don't see anywhere that I guaranteed that any specific thing would be done. I'm pretty careful about that. My previous statements have been to the effect of what I stated earlier in this thread: we reserve the right to bring back any content at any time. That doesn't mean that we will. If people made a leap to believe something - then that is an error on our part for not being clearer in our statements.

This was a case of people being unhappy no matter what they did. You can't please everyone no matter what you do. But STS does listen to customer feedback and sometimes changes their plans based on it. Dark winds swirl around Mount Spyr and distant shrieks echo across its frozen glacier fields. Will the Heroes of Arlor be ready to face this new challenge?

Players will travel to the top of Mount Spyr to help the people of Frozen Hope face this new, malevolent power that is rolling over the land like the winter snow. The Tarlok's Wrath content is planned to go live in December. We will have more details and updates as the content becomes final and is ready to show off.

Crafting to improve your Item Chests
In Tarlok's Wrath, there will be a series of new Winter Event theme'd Chests that contain some of the possible new items involved with the event. There are multiple tiers of these chests (bronze, silver, gold, etc.). During the event, it will be possible to take multiple lower level chests and combine them to make a chest of the next tier up. For example, take a number of Bronze Winter Event Chests and combine them to make a Silver Winter Event Chest. This will allow you to make progress toward obtaining the items you want, regardless of what Chests drop for you.

Update: Dec. 3rd - Vanities and Launch Timing
We are planning for the Tarlok's Wrath content to go live on Monday, Dec. 9th around mid day, Central US Time.

Regarding winter vanities, there will the return of the Winter vanities from last year, with a slightly different dark red color, named the "Winter's Rage" set. There will also be new vanities for each class. The green Arlor set for the Rogue, the Christmas Tree Sorcerer vanity and the Red Arlor vanity set for the Warrior will not return this year.

True, but the fact is for many months... infact, up until the very last week, they confirmed that arlor sets WOULD be coming back. Heck, I know that most people did sell their sets expecting them to come back.

The amount of people that own arlor sets & would lose money is a smaller percentage. Are their discontinued vanities in the game? Sure. However, what has shown in the past is that seasonal vanities come back every single year. For them to go back in their word has caused lots of people financial loss & disappointment.

The amount of threads that I've seen on this issue was maybe two? The amount of people that were unhappy were relatively few compared to the amount of people that were happy that they were coming back.

You can spin it in any way that you like, but the truth is that they lied to us. I'm one of the people that held off buying vanities until this recent change explicitly for all the quotes. However, unlike most, I can afford the new prices. What about others who loved the vanity set for it's visual appearances?
