Well, a bunch of you probably already know about it. WoM. If you dont, its basically World of Warcraft, for mobile devices, and its still in beta testing.
The reason I posted this thread was for everyone to comment their forum name and future IGN, so that we'll all know eachother (kinda). I'll go first.

Im glad im not alone! Theres another beta starting January 10th. It may seem like a lot, but there is a Founding Father's Dragon f/s on the website, for $09.99. It gains you a rock solid axcess to beta, instead of the possibility of being excluded. THERE ARE ONLY 1000 FOR SALE, so hurry and get them! They will be completely exclusive, with no hope of ever being able to be bought after launch.

I'm pretty sure the names we made in the previous beta will be kept. I haven't been keeping up with the news so I could be wrong. If the names aren't kept, everyone better back off. Carth is mine. :D

Ahh, kk. I haven't been a part of any beta groups so far. I purchased the lava dragon, since everyone, including my guild seems to be trying out the game, and I don't wanna regret not buying one. Hopefully not all the good names are taken by the time I get the chance to make my character, lol.

Lol. I haven't been able to find much about the classes. Templar and Confessor sound interesting. I'd imagine a templar is a tank while a "fighter" is more of a melee damage class? Just guessing here. My knowledge of MMO's doesn't really go past PL and a tiny bit of O&C:p

I was confused by this also, had 9 and 10 year old running around in SL, though they could be chatting to 40+ year old's seems a bit off to me (though 13+ is prob not the best either, though guess it's inevitable, ah well seems STS have changed it in the App and Market stores but not the ToS. The game isn't yet available on either iOS or Android. 3rd Beta will be available to both iOS and Android users on the 10th of January. To be able to play, you must be on the beta list or have purchased the Founder's Dragon Mount.

No one, even those who made it in beta, is playing WoM at this time. All beta players will get a chance to play on the 10th.

Not everyone who signed up for the beta gets in. They choose a few of those who signed up and give out a list with all the names of players who are able to participate. WoM developers already said that the list was full awhile back so not sure if you made it or not. I never paid attention to the listing since I happened to have purchased the Lava Dragon (Founder's Dragon) which guaranteed me a spot in all betas. Even though you signed up, there is possibly a chance that you didn't make it.

If you really want in, I suggest you purchase the Lava Dragon, which you can purchase with a Paypal account for only $10, to guarantee your spot in the 3rd beta. It's worth it though since the dragon mount looks sick and you will be funding the development of the game.

Jan 10th is Beta 3, after that Semi-beta/Beta 4, then when everything is running full release. The admin there, have announced release could be anywhere between 1-3 months after Beta 3 :)

If I judged STS on the massive amount of whiny threads and brown nosing suckups, I would never play again. If you even begin to judge a game based on a few threads of a beta game, then you are being silly. However, I suspect you are just playing the STS fanboy role.

Remember guys, there is nothing wrong with liking two games. I love STS games, I have invested a lot into them, and I will continue playing them. But that does not mean that I am not excited about WoM. The game has a lot of potential and you are blind if you can't see that.

I will definitely try to divide my time.

They will not be charging for 3rd beta. The original plan was to charge 5 bucks to limit the beta, it at the time was the only way to have a medium scaled beta testing with all of Apples app restrictions. A alternate was found and is being used now (The dragon mount). The way it works if 3rd beta is free, but if you didn't get a dragon, you don't have all the zones unlocked. People who purchased dragons have all zones (the portals) unlocked immediately.

The reason it is like this is because WoM has very specific goals they want tested by us, but it wouldn't work with Apple. So this is the fairest compromise that could be made. (Semi-Beta will be totally free, and there will be no limit to players who can attend this beta.)

Semi-Beta will be in the Apple and Droid markets as "Faction Wars". This is because Veraxon already has it trademarked, and apple wont allow a second WoM app, even though the original would be removed.

Semi-Beta will have unlocked portals for dragon purchasers, all others only have the starting zone unlocked. This is about as real as the game will get before the official launch. It is called semi beta because it is half beta half real game. Semi beta will last longer then expected, 3-4 months. Don't worry though, they said that they extended the beta time so that they could implement some new features while the beta is running. We will see new spells, 10v10 zone maybe, and some other stuff added.

Semi Beta starts early March.

Also, semi beta data will not be erased. You keep your level, your gold, your items, your name, everything.

3000 beta keys have been given away, more wanted in the game so to provide us with what we wanted they come up with the 'founders dragon mount' (restricted at 1000).

Dragon Mount, also makes 10 char slots available. All zones are free to join (during beta). An official Founders item that shows you have been there from the start.

Semi-Beta was made up so iOS users could still join the Beta stages, due to apple not allowing games in beta stage in the iTunes store. This will be totally free and its due for Feb (10k player limit).

You will not be able to pay real money for IG currency. More selection when it comes to class and race and morebto come. More than one skill trait path.

^ Exactly right. The entire game can be played completely free and no one will gain a major advantage besides added entertainment and fun through purchasing IAP.

I believe veraxon is aiming for a mass amount of players, who then.. with all of the fun of the game and great community will pay for vanity things in-game to support the company.

Here is a list of IAP (Not mentioning the purchasable exclusive items in the anouncements section)

VIP (Subscription) 1.99$ a month or 20$ a year similar to a party package that contains many different things aswell as if you are a VIP subscriber you are given a higher priority to join your server if it is full.

Mithril coins (In-App-purchase-Currency)- You can purchase mithril coins which is used to buy other IAP items.
(Amber- A free in-game currency can also be obtained through drops or tasks to purchase IAP for free)

Bag space (Unlockables)- Increase The amount of items you can hold in your inventory or "Bag"

Character unlocks (unlockables)- Unlock up to Ten character slots

Island (Adventure packs)- Seperate "Fun" zones not relating to the world of midgard world that will have new monsters and fun places to explore. Offered in the store as "Adventure packs" There will also be fan-made quests on the islands (Quests made by us in the quest suggestions section!)

permanent mounts (Items)-purchase a mount permanently to keep and use. (Mounts can be rented in-game without purchasing anything but by using in-game free currency)

Armour (Items)- Tier 2 armour that is near the best but isn't the best, the best armour can only be obtained through hard work in dungeons. This armour is to help those who don't have the time to farm all day long like others.

experience multipliers (Items)- Gain more experience for a set amount of time while playing.

and many more things to be added such as vanity costumes.

This is to early to list all items for sale but since potions where mentioned here is how it will work in WoM.

In WoM will be food,drink,health and mana potions.

All 4 drops from mobs.

Food and drink regenerate health and mana between combat.

Health and mana potions regenerate given amount of each depending on potion level during combat. Potions have cool down (CD) long enough to not be able to use potion 2nd time in the same and next fight (if 2nd fight shortly after 1st)

People who play a lot can farm them so for example free (never paid for anything) player at level cap can split time between Dungeons, farming potions, PvP and more.

Players who don't have time for farming and want to support the game will be able to buy potions with mithril.



Most IAP will not be in 3rd beta (if any)

Main goal of 3rd beta is to test the game not to sell stuff.

With that said we may add a few items to test buying but items will either carry over or be consumable.

It was posted many times that there will be full reset to level 1 (except purchased vanities, mounts, pets) after 3rd beta.


I forget to mention that when Faction Wars will come out 3rd beta servers will stay to became test realms.

Faction Wars servers will be totally new so it will not be technically a reset but rather re-creation of all characters from 3rd beta.

Just in for all you non-plat/money users.. farm Exlirs ;)


One for thing to be 100% transparent here.

I think it's relevant for this post to say that there will be a least a few types of elixirs too.

Elixirs will increase stats slightly and they will work the same as potions so you can get it from both loot and mithril.

The only difference is that elixirs can be farmed only in dungeons (not in 3rd beta)

It should give incentive for players to continue playing dungeons even if they have all gear already from specific dungeon.

Since elixirs will drop from dungeon mobs (not only bosses) it should also help mitigate "kill boss only" approach.

It should help significantly with grouping and keep high level players running dungeon and helping other players to gear up.

Each race has certain passive skills, so depending on what Faction you pick certain preffered passive skills may or may be available.

Personally, its more of a good vs evil theme thing to me, in Fable I'm always likely to go full evil (though I have that inner nice person in me that makes it hard to go all the way evil at times, well expect the last one.. full good or full bad.. no in-between which sucked :p). And the guild that we have built on the Fury side is pretty beast.

Guess it all depends on what your preffered Race is, as there's been a few that just want to be a Dwarf and that's their reason for going with the Alliance. Mostly just personal preference atm. Though later on through out the game each will have own 'special features' to help you decide, and add more story to each faction, including quests (50-60+) that follow the lore.

They do have a WoM Lore book (30 pages), its pretty well written and explains a lot about each faction and why they are in the war to begin with. But that's just to help with the story, not features that would help you pick.

The receipt that you got through email is enough. Send them that email address so they can find your purchase.


There's a password recovery link in WOM general forums. Use the password to enter the Beta test forum. Down a few posts/topics, you'll see a link to the download.

I don't have Android so I'll have to wait till tomorrow. Maybe they knew I logged in through mac last beta, which I did, so I won't get the new email until tomorrow?

I have no idea, but recover password worked. You might want to try that.

Also, I think if you PM the admins using your login (did you make a login to purchase? I think you had to?), that ought to work. I corresponded with them over last beta and that's what I did to identify myself. I think.

While you're right, the password recovery doesn't always work. It can give the error "Email Not Found".

I tackled the Ancient Ents and Ants easily then I ventured into the Desert and discovered a city hidden among the vast dunes of the scorching desert. While exploring the city I found a portal that teleported me to a 'Werewolf Instance' where I found strang half-wolf, half-human creatures. As I slew werewolves left and right I noticed I was edging toward a large underground auditorium, where a beast of gigantic proportions was standing waiting for it's next meal. I stood there in shock as I realized it was to late to hide, he had already spotted me and was lumbering toward me, a giant axe in his right hand. I readied myself for a battle that would surely be one to the death for me or him I knew not. I hoisted my axe and began attacking him...The rest was a blur of adrenaline-rushed, gruesome images. I think its alright, getting there, but still pretty far from a polished game. I'm still not sure how they will differentiate themselves from o&c (w/o the current hacks), the graphics do look better in o&c, there is no story line as of yet, actions are buggy, GUI needs to be put out better. Hopefully when the full game comes out, it will make me mind=blown, but as for now..meh

Only the title is similar and zenonia had the name first, I'm a fan of the series. That's an issue that the WoM are already well aware of, which is why they're releasing their open beta game as "faction wars". Midgard has been referenced many times, more famously and way before mobile gaming in Thor from Marvel Comics.

Beta was given out to 3.8k people for FREE, the amount of interest the game had people wanted another way of accessing beta. That's when the Founders Dragon Mount was introduced (only 1000 released ever), as they needed a bigger server etc to handle that, making it 4.8k and more people still wanted access to the beta introduced TBW PASS but all this was from the decision of all players that missed the initial 3.8k passes.

There is also a dropped 'Plat' currency called Amber for players that are unable to 'Contribute/Purchase IAP' along with TapJoy.

I would rather pay for something that I want! Rather than something that is required to play/enjoy.

The game will be free to play, there is no doubt about that. However, they will have a monthy fee if you want a VIP subscription. This will give you server priority/vanities/etc. Thats the only subscription there will be.

As far as it turning into a money pit.. There will, of course be some in-app-purchases. Like elixirs, armors, weapons, etc.. But there are a few things that will set them apart. As Bod said, you can get Amber drops in game, that can be used for IAP. Of course it will be hard as crap to get, but just having the option to grind for IAP's is awesome in my book. I would have rather grinded my tail off in SL to do a skill reset, than spend 2 plat.

Regarding the weapons/armors, they have already stated that the best end game weapons/armors will be obtainable only through dungeons. That means no buying your way into the best gear. So far, the current model they are working on gives much more versatility to their money pit. Saying money-pit in a derogatory way is kind of silly, since all games are money pits. You would be hard pressed to find a game that isn't (or at least doesn't want to be) a money-pit. They have to support themselves somehow. The big difference comes from how they present this money pit. If you feel forced to spend money on a game, then it sucks. If you feel like you are choosing to spend the money, then it's okay.

Exactly Bod. Their beta servers currently can't handle a ton of people. And with almost 5,000 people signed up for just this beta, and trying to satisfy the demand of people wanting in, they placed these limits.

IAP Armour will only be added for players that are unable to grind/farm for the best. That said the gear will be Grade -1 meaning this is 1 above the lowest possible armour in-game.(pretty useless for hardcore gamer or PvP)

You can't be expecting a "game" at this juncture. It's definitely a beta, so keep that in mind when you hear comments about it. It's not fully-baked yet! Yup, we will see.

My own experience was one of very leisurely leveling. At level 15 I started doing dungeons and killing bosses 80% of the time. However, You can easily get 2 levels a day, with just a few hours invested.

Tessie made it to 25 in 1 week. Not 24...but all the way to 25. So depending on your dedication and time you have available, it would not take long to get to 24 :)
