Should really overthink the concept before the next community contest. I doubt its a good choice to host one again if it costs devs so much time. There are more useful areas to invest that into imo. Some might have fun doing this and disagree with me on that one but I would vote for no further contests of this kind. Just my opinion.

This was a cool event, though it felt like it went on for a bit too long. Point tracking should also be automated if this event is to happen again.

It was insane the first time. Everyone pushed STS to run the event. I applaud Remi for taking it up. Everyone should give her all the time she needs to do alone what it took a team from multiple guilds plus automation to accomplish the first time.

To be honest i only did 1 to 2 entries for each class each week doing it myself or a party member doing it just enough to pass the recs for the vanities. I think it's gone out of hand due to the 1k + photos submitted by the players going for the prizes I think this is how it's gone south because there's not enough workforce to manage this amount. That being said yes if it is so time demanding it's not a good idea to use a Devs time in this way. [emoji51]

What if the countdown of the entries should start with the 6th week and then track down who attempted that week and compare with other weeks.

Sent from my SM-N975F using TapatalkI agree as a lot of players did one just enough entries for the vanity alone and to tell you the truth at the current rate its taking it will likely be a year or two before the tally is done or cancelled so it makes sence to do the vanity prize first and tallying top guilds and stuff second as some players posted thousands of photos were a majority ran only for the vanity and Im a patient player but still to wait a year or more exspecting to get the vanity to find out one photo is missing and you don't make the cut after that amount of time would be farcical specially as you didn't bombard a spam amount of photos to create even more delays just a thought

The bombardment of entries is to be expected, after all, they were the ones that decided it to be a competition. But it seems like they were biting more than they can chew.

Nevertheless, to be fair, the causes for the delay are from hiatuses, and little to no progress whenever Rem does a tallying session. Evidently seen by observing the spreadsheet time to time.

Lastly, we have no assurance of how developers think our time is worth.

Sure, people could say that everyone is busy, everyone has more important things to do. But when you host an event with this expectation, and a significant setback occurs with no updates then those hundreds of players that devoted god knows how much time, will of course, naturally be angry. And would think wise next time around.

Based on the first two weeks, there weren’t many runners that uploaded duplicates. And if they did, it was like 1-2 at most. It is safe to assume that the remaining 4 weeks are the same.
Can remien just count the number of pics and just grant the individual and guild prices and vanities by assuming that every entry is good to go? And whoever entered in weeks 1-2 and has a missing boss or secret phase will still get the vanity if they ran the other 4 weeks as well.

For close ties in top 3 of each class, remien can individually check the pics of those runners for correctness.
And guild prices aren’t as important as vanity and individual prices since gold can be farmed fast nowadays

I am all for supporting the devs and not put pressure on them, but at this rate we will be waiting like a decade for the vanity. It's obviously not important to them, but there was a lot of hype when it started, and now basically it's 0 - I'm actually surprised there are people posting in this thread.

1) To win the vanity, all you need to do is complete and be in a screenshot for every map each week (all 6 weeks). As long as you've completed all of the maps in the 6 weeks, you will get the vanity.
2) The example at the end of this thread is the perfect post! Each run screenshotted, names and guild names visible, dead boss or loot in chat, and secret phrase. All instructions will be in each weekly post, so don't worry. It'll be clear!
3) You DO need to be in a guild to participate, but you don't have to run with guild mates. You also do not have to stick with the same party. For each completed run you will receive 1 point for yourself and your guild. So it counts for both no matter how who you run with.
4) You can run as many times as you like during the week. Create a post for each completed round of runs.


COMPLETION PRIZE (Final):
For players that complete all maps for all 6 weeks of the contest, you'll receive this exclusive contest vanity (helm and armor). 1 (one) vanity will be granted per class with which you participated. So, if you entered with your rogue and sorcerer, you'll receive a rogue and sorcerer vanity. These can not be sold or traded.

I'll also let everyone know the process for how to let me know if your IGN has changed.
