The Community Guild's Video Guide Extravaganza!

Background:

A long time back, there was a contest (held for Pocket Legends and Star Legends) to make a video guide to help new players learn about the basics of the game. Over time, Spacetime Studios has grown and evolved by making new games and having their current games get a variety of updates. At this time, Arcane Legends doesn't have a new player video. The idea is simple, make a video guide teaching the basic mechanics that EVERY new player should know about Arcane Legends!

Who Can Participate In The Event?

Anyone can enter! All you need is a Arcane Legends, forum and YouTube account!

What Is The Event?

Create a video guide teaching new players how to play Arcane Legends!

Rules:

Entries must meet the following criteria:

1. Videos should be no longer than ≈ 10 minutes in length (It's ok if it is slightly shorter/longer). We recommend getting the Bandicam free trial or QuickTime ScreenRecorder to record your video. We will accept camera recorded videos, but please ensure that the video stable and easy to understand.

2. Use in game footage to guide a new player through the basics of:
- Character Creation
- Chat / Tells
- Adding / Playing with friends
- Map / Entering Dungeons
- Quests
- Attribute points
- Training skills
- Basics of combat
- Trade/Consignment shop
- Stash
- Inventory/Equipping
- Platinum Store
- Pets
- Daily quests
- Allies
- Elite Maps
- Anything else you feel a new player needs to know!

4. Posted on http://www.youtube.com/ with the video title "Arcane Legends New Player Tutorial".

5. A valid entry must be submitted to "Bilaxman" via Private Message. Please provide the following information in your message:
- Subject Line: “New Player Video Event Entry”
- Forum name
- In game character name
- Link to video

6. Creativity is a big plus, it has got to be interesting or no one will want to watch it! Add humor, background details, cool facts or anything that will make a positive addition to your video!

7. Originality: Guides will be judged on how unique they are. Although videos will contain similar information, avoid copying from others.

8. Detail: The guide must be clear enough so that any player could understand each point clearly.

9. Grammar: If you choose to have written material in your video, please use complete words (No "u" "ur" etc.)

10. Keep it clean. Profanities, vulgarities etc. will result in a disqualification.

11. The winning contestant must provide Bilaxman with the video file. (Specific directions regarding this step will be given to winners when the time arises)

12. You MUST own the rights to any music used in your video. This means you may NOT use any commercial music (a CD or MP3 file you own of an artist, for example). This means you would need to make the music yourself. We recommend using your voice to have a descriptive voice over helping the viewer to understand what they are seeing.

Judging!

Videos will be scored by TCG (privately) or by judges (appointed by Bilaxman) on the following scale:

Content: 40 Points
Creativity/Originality: 25 Points
Detail: 20 Points
Presentation: 10 Points
Length: 5 Points

Total Score: ____ /100

After being reviewed, the five (or so) best videos will then move on to a vote done by Spacetime. The top three will be the winners!

Prizes!

Grand Prize: 2,000 Platinum, Arcane item of your choice, Video Posted on the Arcane Legends Website, and everlasting FAME!
Runner up: 500 Platinum, Video linked from Arcane Legends Website.
Third: 250 Platinum, Video linked from Arcane Legends Website.

When Does The Event Begin?
It starts today! Entries will be accepted from today through Monday, April 21, 2014 11:59PM PDT! TCG will vote on the top 5 (or so) and from there will go to a community vote.

Where Do I Post My Entry?
After creating/editing your video, upload it to YouTube with the video title "Arcane Legends New Player Tutorial". Remember to PM "Bilaxman" with the specified information (see rule #5 for details) afterwards.

How Do I Make It?
However you want! You can go about creating this video however you want just as long as you meet the requirements specified above. Chat, Sing, Type your way to victory!
