I think over all this event is fine, not all events can have crazy bosses, and 10 new vanities. This is a small event for AL and it should be taken that way. You wouldn't want negative community feed back to prevent sts from adding more mini events in the future would you?
As for the pet I know his stats are underwhelming, but should every new pet be the best? And if he were super good I think people would complain about him being a plat purchase gamble.
The one criticism I do have of the event is the lb reward chest, getting on the lb is hard and opening a 10 plat chest would be very disappointing. After all that time. Perhaps reconsider the minimum amount in chestsat the very least maybe 15 plat so at least leaderboard runners could have an opportunity to open a locked and get 6k!!

This events that top 25 get banner ara basically for players that dont work all day playin. What happen with people that have responsabilities? Like work or school? . Ths events are not based on skills only about time . So workers call on sick for arcane legends maybe u get one

I would just ask for the leaderboards to be increased a bit. 25 seems too short.

On one hand, these mini-events are nice for easy runs with guildies, know other players and spend a few hours of fun, but on the other hand doesn't represents a challenge for skilled players and yes, also the lb it s just a fact of time spent playing, spinning and running around and around.
Let the mini-event come but for the future, please, just look at some of the suggestions of many players, veterans and not, there r many threads abt that..a lot of friends playing from 3rd and 4th season quitted the game seeing the end of the lovecrafting event and the "big surprise never seen before".
Btw i still believe that the game has remarkable margins for improvement with a few tips.

Not every event has to be such big as the winter one or have completly new vanities (completly new colours wouldve been nice), remember they have a lot to do with the next expansion and call of champions...
To the lb...I won't even try it, I think the banner is awfull and for max 50 plat it just doesnt worth.
Also I dont think the new pet needs to get added some happiness bonus like 15% damage, I think it just would need a better aa because dmging with chance of stun, slow bleed...we have this aa like at least 3 times. I'd prefer a single target 100% 3 sek stun lol...
