    Default Crown of persistence

And finally I'm here at 56. Getting confuse on the crown. Is there only 1 crown now to buy? The window only states "dingy crown of persistence" at 5plats. Or are there other crowns to choose from?

And, wearing the crown removes a set bonus?

You initially get to choose the purple, Dingy Crown of Persistence, for 5 plat.

After choosing it, you get to do a series of quests to make it into a pink str/dex/int crown.

Yeah it removes set bonus, crowns currently have no sets on them.

If i remember correctly its 3 quests. Kill gf, kill queen and king, and kill 70 mobs in stronghold. The quests rewards are the parts to craft the dingy crown into a pink crown of your choice.

The pink crown has no stats requirement, just lv requirement. For example i can put on a str crown on my bird even i hv 0 str. Check Yanis thread in traders forum the stats of the 3 crowns before deciding.

A little tip on the Crown Quests. Make sure you are wearing the equiped dingy crown during the crown quests or you may not get the gem drop you need.

Also remember you can buy more than one dingy crown, in case you want to have a crafted one and keep one uncrafted. But you have to do it when you buy the first one, can't go back later.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't wearing the dingy crown and still got the drops for the quests. I think it's just random.

It may be random. I can't remember if mine was equiped or not when I did the quests. The only reason I say this we were doing the crown quest for Mooger's bear the other night and killed Gold Fever like 6 or 7 times with no drop. Then he equiped it and the next time he got the drop. Could have just been a coincidence though.

To the best of my knowledge, the only random drop is GF (got mine the first try, crown not equipped on Rauen. Second try, crown not equipped on Griev). The other two are just kill the Bandit King and Queen and kill 75 Bandits--no randomness, just straight kills.

I can second that. GF drop is random, I had to try a few times for all 3 chars (drop rates seems really high though). Also, I wasn't wearing the crown in any of my attempts to complete the crafting missions. Long story short, I got all 3 crowns crafted in no time really

    ^^This

You basically take the hard long grind to 56... For a vanity item. Although debatable, It's not like the COP is really useful for anything. So, to me, it's a vanity item. You only get to buy it once, and for a limited time only. So why not buy 2 vanity items (and craft 1)? It's like double the reward for your long grind IMO

And for all doubters of my rockstar status:

the COP is helpful when dual specing. Having a the str helm allows my bow bear to have higher defense when he is using dex equipment and my pally to have higher def when using int equipment. Both of them use the str COP no matter what equips i use on them. i got 2 str COPs and a dex COP for my bird. My poor bird, i put no effort into except that I wanted a third helm. If anyone wants i can tell you my base states and how I dual speced with the crown. IGN in signatures, feel free to pm me.
