How does one make words into a hyperlink?

I couldn't seem to find the thread that explains how. What I mean is, people have their Guides with a hyperlink in blue in their signature. How does one do that? I only know of how to copy and paste the actual website link. Yes, I realize this is a noob question, don't flame me, please .

or you can just type a word, highlight it, then click the icon with the globe and paperclip on it. a window pops up and thats where you put the link you want the word to direct to. like this

Or you could always just click quote on what they put and see the default text without the edits before you post it .
