Sorry, not helpful for Android since not everyone wants to root. Maybe if thug had the link to the no root screen cap app that somebody found.

If you have ICS you can press and hold the power and down volume buttons to take a screenie.

Also I had a LG optimus phone running 2.2.1 I could take screenies using the screenshot ex app from the android market and the phone wasn't rooted either.
