Sts killed the stunlock long ago in season two with the 7 second stun immunity. In the past you could alternate charged fireball and charged gun attack to achieve a stun lock if timed well...

At this point we are left with an improvised "pseudo-stunlock." So how does this work? The panic of pets (slag, orion, Sam, Clyde, etc.) is not blocked by stun immunity. So the most common way to do it is charged fireball followd by pet arcane for panic immediately after the stun of fireball wears off. If you do it too early, before stun wears off, the panic won't work. If you do it to late, your opponent has a chance to attack and/or stun you. Light also has a chance to stun, but is not garunteed. Charged attack from a gun can also stun instead of a fireball, but a little trickier to use.

The application of shield during a stunlock depends on how skilled you are with timing. Used to be much easier to work it in when you did not need to charge it to get the two second immunity. The easiest is to use it before you attack to provide you with immunity in case you fail. Harder is to use it right before your stun wears off, in case your pet panic fails, or right before your panic ends. This requires you to be good at judging distances and timing and to be confident that you can get the first attack in. You need to judge the skill of your opponent for this.

Also an important point: if you fire your fireball just out of range, it will explode right next to your enemy, if you are pointing in the correct direction, but will not stun them. It will look like it hit your enemy, but it will not stun them. This is probably why it looks like fireball stun sometimes fails, IMHO...

Happy hunting!
