Player Tournament Sponsorship Program

NEW for 2020!
This year we're trying out a pilot program for 'sponsorship' of player-hosted tournaments. Our goal is to encourage players to run smooth, inclusive and fun tournaments by providing some humble (but unique) rewards for participants and tournament winners.

A strictly limited number of sponsorships will be made available this year. Players can apply directly to me and Remiem via private message (on these forums - only) to have their tournaments considered for sponsorship. All applicants will be considered but only a select few will be granted sponsorship under this program. Of course, if things go well this year we want to expand this program in the future!

Application
To apply you must:
- Devise a tournament that is open to all Pocket Legends players.
- Announce the tournament and all relevant parameters on the Spacetime forums.
- Accept players / teams to fill your tournament bracket(s) and communicate this on the forums.
- Send a private message to me (Cinco) and Remiem with the subject "Player Tournament," and a link to the announcement post (in case we missed it).

To be considered for sponsorship you must:
- Commit to managing all facets of the tournament.
- Agree to manage player / team application to participate in the tournament.
- Provide all necessary communication about player, team and tournament status (before, during and after the tourney).
- Make yourself available to referee in real-time or to review recorded matches in order to certify outcomes.
- Validate, qualify / disqualify players and teams as necessary to ensure the integrity of your tournament.
- Respond with satisfactory answers to all questions that Remiem and I raise (to you, via PM) during the course of our evaluation.

We are most likely to grant sponsorship:
- To players that have successfully run a(t least one) tournament in the past.
- To player hosts that have support from a reasonable number of (unique, verified) players.

Sponsorship
If we decide to sponsor your tournament:
- Remiem (or I) will post on your tournament announcement thread indicating that the tournament is sponsored.
- A character-bound vanity prize will be selected from a set of (new) unreleased items.
- A unique title will be selected from a set of (new) unreleased titles.
- When your tournament has been completed successfully, participants will receive the selected vanity prize.
- Tournament winners will receive the participation prize along with the aforementioned title.
- Participation is defined as "having played in earnest" during the tournament. If you quit, fail to play (for any reason), or get disqualified (at any point) you forfeit 'participation' and you will receive nothing.


We've got a lot going on this year so please note that we may not approve (or deny) your application for sponsorship until after your tournament has begun. Spacetime also reserves the right to revoke sponsorship of any player-hosted tournament at any time and for any reason that we feel is valid. This extends to removing tournament rewards from any / all participants at any future date (if warranted).
