Prevent Scamming: A final solution (proposal)

I know STS has a simple policy that if you gift stuff, it doesn’t fall under the ambit of scamming. However, there are a lot of trusting, gullible people prone to getting scammed through the gifting mechanic. I think it’s high time the devs address this issue.

I propose a loan mechanic through an NPC / trading hub where two private parties can enter into a loan arrangement for gear or essentially anything tradable in game for a specified number of days 1/3/5/7 max. The borrower can pay the Fee to the NPC, whatever STS determines to be suitable. The lent items are automatically marked with a ‘heart’ that cannot be altered by the borrower (hence cannot be traded and/or deleted). After the time period expires, the items are automatically returned to the NPC and the lender can collect them.

This could be a final measure, after which STS can truly say it has done all to prevent scamming.

Good idea actualy, there might be some problems tho like lets say lender needs the item back urgently and that specific amount of time didnt pass yet? What happens then

Yes the player can avoid getting scam ...

But the market or market economy of Arcane Legends will slowly die or Will be in chaos...

its like " Why should i buy if i can rent items "

But i believe its a good idea if the player of AL increase but if not its a disaster.

But still i want to know how can it help our current situation.

The main desire to play mmorpgs comes from the difficulty to acquire items. Anything that contradicts with this seems like a shortcut/lazyness to me. Just don't lend; play and buy your own items.

I think for those gullible lenders/scammed should adjust not the whole community. I blame more the scammed than the scammer lol. Why would you lend items without collateral or trust players in game. Every trade is final and thats sad . Be wise never trust any in game and if there are scammers ss it and email it to sts. Again never engage in trust test/lend someone you don't know in real life. 2 cents..

Ok two issues identified by people:

1) loaning gear will kill economy: people are still lending stuff as is. So this doesn’t change anything. This is just lending in a more controlled environment. Also lender can be inconvenienced as pointed out by Fake Stats, which is why you do it thoughtfully and for an amount of time you can safely afford. We can also look into lending for a shorter duration like 1/2/3 days.

2) only npc (sts) is paid a fee. Borrower doesn’t pay the lender anything, so lender cannot profit from such an arrangement.

Ppl are loaning gear now, & if loans are added then it will absolutely change something.
If you add a reason for ppl to not work hard for what they want, they won’t & there will be more begging for loans, & less ppl running maps to earn what they want.

Biggest and foremost problem..if this is the case a major part of player base won't have the need to buy gears or farm them..they can just take for lend the opest gears and use em..which would make the game super boring ..cuz u already tried the strongest stuff..why do u wanna keep playing and earn gold?

I believe an idea of this sort was recommeneded a few years ago for Star Legends a legacy game for STS. Unfortunately didnt happen.
