About the glove question, DPS has zero effect on any skills while weapon damage does. We are not there to deal damage. That's an Op's job, and they look for a balance of DPS and damage. Engineers should have a balance of damage and int. I'd sooner die than be caught using gloves. Only of there's no better weapon on hand.
Just my opinion after doing extensive testing. Feel free to not follow this advice.
