Due to no hints from the devs in the original Hive announcement thread of it being temporary and little things ingame such as the reward for the 1 quest in the Hive (matches many other quest rewards in earlier campaigns), i'm assuming it's permanent. Hive seems much like Skeller Krunch Returns in PL, a side campaign, something to tide over the 35-41's until Scorn II.
