I found it a weird transition to go from 16000xp -1600xp. It was a relief but it was weird. What do you guys think? Should xp for lvl 21+ have stayed 16000 and over? Rather than going back down to 1600...

16000xp to 1600xp
It's a level cap. The xp needed to go from 20 to 21 decreased from 16k to whatever after the expansion.
Capping always involves a challenge.

Remember that thing about AL platinum only being used for elixirs and vanity? Yeah.
Only the level cap has a reduculous amount of xp required. It would be an absurd amount otherwise, especially as the levels increase.

Why would you want to go through 16000 xp just to get to level 21? You don't get any special item anymore so there's really no fun in that
