The original Vortex cooldown is 7 seconds. With the upgrade maxed out, you can reduce it to 2 seconds. It's as spammable as swift strike I think. Only dual wielders can take full advantage of it though. Otherwise it is a waste of morale 1 vs 1. When aoe-ing it is a nice skill to use, crits for 800 and has no target limits unlike swift strike. One of us should try dual wield some time :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't morale only regen when you dish/take damage? So regen wouldn't make a difference.

OK, that makes me feel better about the Assassin. Current top skill is dagger stab crit after a stun, and that crits for 1250 now, should be able to get it up near 2000 at 60. Thought warrior had skills that hit like that, but the dagger stab has a 1 second cool down, so can use it a lot more. Was worried there was no 'upside' to the fact that we can't take damage at all.

He did say he goes after people in big guilds so they'll send an army after him. Gives me some comfort. And I won't respond to him on the forum bc I have no wish to attract his attention. Especially in a game where anyone can stalk you without your knowledge.

That's right, I'm a little surprised how they haven't considered fixing or changing the adding of friends. I don't think I've come across a game where you can freely add a character one-way. Find it kinda weird. Lol :)

Personally, I'm fine waiting. After getting my warrior to 60, the initial obsession has passed and now I just log on a for bits and pieces here and there, do a few quests with my alts, etc. I don't want new content too soon that will drag me back to playing for hours on end.

No he wanted to fight me, maybe just after beating me a couple times he got bored with me or the fact that it was just me and not a mob of Outlaws or something. But he kept whispering that him and Joey were cool, and that he and I were cool the whole time intermittently. Very odd dude, and a whackjob as well. The whole time he kept saying 'me and Joey are cool' publicly Joey was rolling his eyes and saying "yeah right dude, then why you keep killing me?" and he just totally ignored Joey and kept PMing me.

p.s. Mastergator is another kill-on-sight. Dude nailed my archer a few times in Swamps, and then was yapping on Global abotu how levels 1-27 should come to the Swamp PvP area because the mobs drop lots of blues. I started ragging on him in Global and when I tele-d the warrior over I couldn't find him. But last night there were are few 50+/unknown-but-high lvl players in Swamps. I am about to hop on my ranger and try again. Olande quest is next (cry...besides Tommy, perhaps the dumbest quest in the game).

Fun thing just happened. Was farming nobles and got an invite from cryogenics. Refused, because I usually like farming them alone because I can get a good rhythm of killing them without getting hit, but I looked over and saw he had an Outlaws tag! Turns out it was CryoBlade, and he had no idea I was fluff! Was really fun grinding with a guild member for the first time since level 20 :)

Gilligan made a guest appearance in Olande's cave....ganked my lowbie archer and three others. Hopped on the warrior and tele-d over, found him and fought to a draw before he ran off. Moral victory, lol, if nothing else. His hack is def gone...I musta run into him before right before they fixed that.

LOL yeah I think the same way. When I did this quest I got a lucky crit that helped me kill it with less than 100 hp left. The problem is that for some reason you can't hit the worm with melee skills so you need to use regular attacks and range. Its a bad bug that has plagued this game since the start you can hit a mob with auto attack so you are in melee range but when you hit a melee skill it says you are out of range X__X

Man, elite nobles are super annoying for rangers. If I stand at a respawn point (which I often do) they gang me and I'm dead. This is at level 44 though.

It was impossible to take him out too, unless I knew where he was beforehand. Would take me out from full to 0 health in 2 seconds flat. He was my level, I believe. Level 28-30. So, is there any chance he was using the unlimited skill hack? I noticed he was using escape somehow, so I could never catch up to him.

Eventually Readtitle and Everrr came to help me out, caught up with him and repeatedly killed him till he logged off, extremely grateful for that, as I could finally get my quest done!

So, any ideas?

They fixed the unlimited talent. He is an assassin and escape is early in his skill tree. With escape and smoke bomb, it's hard to kill assassin.

Sounds like a normal assassin, but it's the fact that he waits on you that's annoying.

Not sure if you've gotten Avulsion Shot yet, but it's good to put that on an assassin first, as they tend to Smoke Bomb away just before they die, having that bleed damage on (which is quite high actually) will usually kill em :)

So, I'm confused. Are you saying that assassin is better then archer, in PvP? If so, I need to respec. Lol. Debatable, IMO.

Some cases, assassins shine, some cases, archers do.

From what I've noticed, after just coming from a 2 hour pvp session in Vega, assassins currently have a harder time.

Also, I'm not sure if that vigor bug is getting fixed soon, but I've noticed that a huge chunk of assassin damage comes from that bug. So with that fixed, I'm not quite sure..

So, I'm confused. Are you saying that assassin is better then archer, in PvP? If so, I need to respec. Lol. The sneaking up on people and taking them out really quickly is cheap and not my style, however. I noticed, just about any character my level, if I properly one on one them, I beat them, easily. So, that's another story.

What level are you? I wouldn't go assassin till 34 because you need 30 points to get the full potential of dagger stab which is your primary attack. Oh, and at level 38, there is a blue dagger called Dark Breaths which is the best main hand dagger till level 56.

Rangers are the last classes I duel because of the whole sneak thing. Usually, for assassins, it's literally to whoever gets stun in first.

For archers it's a bit different, if lucky, I sometimes get to beat an archer that got the first move on me, crits and dodges.

No, the DOT doesn't bring them out, it still damages them though.

From what I've noticed, after just coming from a 2 hour pvp session in Vega, assassins currently have a harder time.

Good thing about O&C is that you can use other symbols instead of just normal letters like the ones you have when you press a letter for a second. So you can make Shakira anyway you like it Just use the A with 2 dots or something hehe be creative.

Go to your quest log, and check the box on the right of the quest's name. Then below your character's feet, there should be a blue arrow telling you where you need to go to complete your quest.

Haven't seen him/her and I try to ignore the tomfoolery going on in Greenmont near the AH, but yeah, wish there was a report button. We got totally spoiled by STS and their fast response times, GL is a fail on taking care of glitches and offensive stuff like the gang here at STS, fo sho :)

Well once you have the recipe shouldn't it be pretty easy to make? I mean all you need is the symbol from a boss that spawns frequently. And the hunter trousers recipe can be bought. So why not? They are worth over 100g.

Btw, I respec'd my ranger again and took up split shot. After Cryo mentioned it, I realized that it's your second strongest skill. So my combo now is just snipe, explosive, rapid then split shot. Don't even need pin anymore.

Also got 46 today. Had some fun playing with escape together with Fluff, Freja and Cryo at Greenmont :p

Leather is just a royal PITA to level. I got to master lvl by not buying any recipes (so as not to waste currency). I bought a lot of mats in addition to farming tons of fur, and still never managed to get enough currency before heading to rift to buy a master lvl recipe. Gonna have to go back and farm heavy fur (or buy some) just to be able to buy a single master lvl recipe so I can use hard fur.

Also, I tried Bolrock lord a few times, but he seems to be always camped by a lvl 60. More players means more competition for bosses. You can't compete with a lvl 60 (except maybe a monk -- I stole a bunch from lvl 60 monks with my lvl 52 warrior). So we would either have to team up to get the symbols or wait till we're 60 (stupid BOP -- I still have a few on my warrior but can't trade them over).

At some point Freja and I will probably farm the symbols and if you don't mind waiting for me to get enough currency to buy the recipe AND farm the symbols, I'd make you one as well. But not sure how much of a rush you're in to get it.

Well crit only increases the chance to proc. But range AP increases the damage of that proc. So I'd say both are good but you don't need too much crit. Maybe around 30%, idk what end game numbers are.

I think it depends on what build you're going.

I know there's a non-crit build out there. Definitely higher spike/nuke damage than a crit based, but lesser overall DPS.

Sort of the same route, but they get ES + Upgrade, and always have Acute toxicity on. That way, Snipe has a 25% definite chance to proc, and so does ES. So they rely on that 25% and focus on making those attacks stronger instead.

For crit though, there's this one chest piece that gives good crit and agi too, not sure on the name. Bulrino's Chest? I forgot if it's a quest item too. Lol.

Crit % should be what you aim for. The value is just to make it easier to know how much crit you get from gear, I think.

IMO, dodge will come naturally from the agi in your gear. Unbuffed, my archer has 15% dodge, and with Escape on, boosts up to 65%. I didn't focus on dodge too, just went for crit :)

Sniper's Leather Coat (1 Colonel Symbol, recipe very common from ghosts in rift) - You can just AH this too.
Hunter's Leather Trousers (2 Colonel Symbol, recipe from NPC) - AH.
Rider's Caligae (1 Colonel Symbol, recipe was from chests I think so quite common) - AH.

These are easy because of the symbol, colonel still isn't fixed last I checked.

Rarer but better ones would be:

Guardian's Leather Coat (1 Captain Symbol, recipe is from 39-ish mobs, got mine in the elite nomads on top of desert while brother has been searching for a week now).
Stealth Hunter's Trousers (1 General Symbol, recipe from NPC).
Stealth Hunter's Coat (2 General Symbol, recipe from NPC).

By NPC, I mean the Crafting Trainers. (Leather, Cloth, Plate). They're usually beside the class trainer, in ranger's case and in greenmont, the leather trainer is right next to the Archer Trainer :)

G, I think a big part of what makes it feel outdated to me is the PACE of the chars. Other games I've played since PL have offered faster moving speed. I understand you can buy elixirs in PL, but that seems to be the only way to move faster. Every time I log into PL, even if just to check the CS, it feels like it takes a really long time to walk those few feet. Even longer walks in other games don't feel as gruesome.

Just my opinion, not sure why you've decided to keep the walking speed the way it is, but it plays a big part in how PL's overall feel is to me.

Yeah, me too. I went on PL for like 10 mins and was trying to shift the camera upwards the whole time.

I'm pretty sure archer and ranger gear are alike, but if you want crit get the guardian's coat instead of sniper's.

Well, assassin would want regular attack while archers need range attack. Seems a lot easier to find gear for assassins, as cloaks, rings, etc all have attack power -- have yet to see any with range attack.

Yeah, found out when I was testing the AP/Crit thing. I put on normal AP gear and saw the AP in my ranged page go up too.

Attack power is the same as range attack power but range attack power is not the same as attack power for melée. Same goes for crit and spell crit. You can equip your gears and see.

I think Wind gear would be better than pure attack gear if you're looking to buy them :)

End-game Wind (pure agi) gear give about 28-29 agi per piece, I think.

So translated, that's roughly 56 RAP, .8% Crit, and the dodge you get from it. Versus a pure attack piece, I think they only give about 55 AP.

Best choice would be the Agi + AP gear though, which I think might come from quests only or only a few pieces are actually from mobs.

Because ranger is divided into assassin and archer, which focus different atk. Melee and Range.

If you look at couple pieces of the leather crafted gear or regular rewards, you will notice how some item has ok agi/AP/crit, while some has high agi/RAP. it's really gear towards different focus, which i love, KISS style.

Different from Elly, I am AP focused. Which means I am looking at agi/AP/RAP. My rule of thumb when choosing a piece of equipment is always calculating the max AP add.

Say Item A is 5agi/9crit = 10AP+9crit
Say Item B is 5agi/9AP = 19AP cuz ((5x2)+9)
it's down to personal pereference to choose, base on the which tree focus.

It's especially noticeable when looking at Blue/Purple crafted items. Lv55+green and quest rewards are the same as well.

So when people are looking at Seal / Lotus Offense, I use Lotus Wind for my archer.

If i remember correctly from my number crunching a while back, 1agi=0.028%, which is close enough like Elly said of 0.03%.
Personally, I only like % increase 5 per interval. Looking at the skill tree, it's usually 1/3/5/10/15/20. Some people like to have it more balanced type of skills, I like to max out of things.

4 trees / 2 crafts done, just started working on 2 more trees and 2 crafts. FML.

I hope PL/GL has new content soon, or B* release so can save me away from restarting again...

My GW is about 10-11%crit and my archer is 23-24%crit, I can relate to this, but I will need to do more testing after I raise my BW/MM up.

Also I think lv of the mob plays a factor too.

I was farming HQ scrap on my archer, my rapid shot would crit like 75% of time killing lv17mob, with 23.96%crit unbuffed; but fighting harpie/ghoul in Rift, it would crit a lot less. But when I get a monk buff and up my crit above 25%, I would see higher rate of crit, especially on Snipe and rapid shot.

I wish Phys/Elf play this game :p I hate numbers lol

I closed this thread because I planned on leaving and being gone inwouldnt have been here to moderate it. I did it out of respect for STS but then it was unlocked because they didn't mind it being up. That was a nice gesture from me to STS. Formora you're sad really. I've never done a thing to you but then you want to make this a personal issue. Your guild at the time that I was in it, all you guys ever spoke about was crafting crafting crafting. I wanted to get ahead and that's what tragic seemed to be doing. I, along with Royce, were the highest levels in that guild. I dont think you were even in it. After ellyidol left you guys, it was only logical to make the move too. That only rose my suspicions that tragic had the same goals of further exploring content instead of just focusing on just one aspect more than the others (which at the time of the then Alterra's finest was crafting. I was obviously not the only one that felt that way after shmoo and kenemily left right along with me. I never had anything against you guys, but you all swear that I had a hand in everyone leaving your guild for ours. I don't recall ever speaking to doubletime or echelong in game let alone about switching over. I was just as surprised as anyone when I logged in one day and saw them in the guild section.

Again formora, it's nice to see that you have these feelings for me built up. I'm flattered really, but in all actuality I didn't do a thing to you. The whole Joey and read/skim thing has too many holes in it right now to figure out who's right or wrong, but it was only natural to defend my side first especially after being compared to gilligan.

Lol I'm guessing he failed to mention that it was 2v2 with readtitle skim skim, himself and a random. The 'outlaw' was a 60 and was spawn killing so they just returned the favor.

While I'm doing this, readtitle attacks and kills my Mage. I explained why I was doing it and told him to stop... But he says a lower level told him to kill me and carries on. I log and go back on the archer, and get spawn camped again by read, and skim who has now joined. I give up and go back to my Mage to fight them 2v1 for a while. They start ganking a warrior too (lvl60), but it's not 2v2 nor was there any sign of it becoming a 2v2. (As in they just killed us as we spawned and we weren't on the same team).

But this doesn't matter cause I can't prove it. It's my word against theirs.

Sounds right, and sounds like a misunderstanding.

I've been on the both sides of that as well, been camped and switched to 60 to return the favour, or accidentally camp a 60 for doing the same thing (returning the favour from his alt being camped).

One thing is certain though, you told him what you were doing and the issue is now with Read. Skim sounds like he just came along to help a guildmate, we don't know if it was exaggerated in guild chat.

Sorry for that, really need a small talk with the guild.

At least from this thread. As far as I'm concerned, if you felt this thread needed to be locked, you shouldn't post on it. For a while, I thought you had enough sense not to, but I guess you thought we all forgot what you did and would pretend nothing happened just because you deleted the post.

And then it started that u Joey yes u honorable member here started camping me on the graveyard with ur aoe not letting me in stealth . I am fine with that read took care of u in that moment. Then another " non outlaw" appeared and we made 2/2 without camping each other. So I apologize if my grammatical skills lack a bit but I am not a native speaker I hope I couod bring some light into these whole speculation and posting wrong fact discussion.

The screens were more there for the "don't spawn kill me I didn't do that to you". Pictures seem the best way to prove a story, and twist the truth a whole lot less than words do.

Anyway Red and Elly seem happy with this finished, cause like I said it's my word against yours. If you have any pics that show you in a better view, please post them ^^

Oh, so you planned on leaving, that's why. The world doesn't revolve around you, many others use this thread as well. The devs already said it was fine from the get go, and yet you still went on and locked it. I really don't understand your logic behind that. Just because you started the thread doesn't give you the right to lock a harmless and very active thread.

I was not interested in crafting at all when we were starting out. Les was our only guild crafter, and what is wrong about being excited about it? You claim to be so focused on getting ahead, but you were even slower than us who only care about "crafting crafting crafting". I was fine with Elly leaving as he was close to Toughie and his guild.
