Aight guys, Doubletime has offered to remake the guild for us! Looks like a few of y'all weren't fans of the name i made the last guild, So lets decide on a new one, and then Doubletime can make it and start inviting us all back to it! I'm about to head to class, so i'll leave it up to all of you, and ill try to check this thread every once in a while!

I threw out the names Legends and Legendary. What other suggestions do you guys have?

I am not a big fan of Legends or Legendary...I hate anything that makes us look pompous or that we think we are the best.

One clan/guild name I always liked was one I saw in WoW ages ago...UnGuild. As in they were a guild, but didn't have all the normal silly guild rules, were all cool/co-op players with each other, no rigid rank structure, etc.

Arterra would be okay with me, or Fnordic as a nod to the old school PL server. I know Royce would go for that in a heartbeat. Or Fnordic-Arterra. Or Arterra-Fnordic. I like our PL connection, would be cool to make a nod to PL!

Anyone know where to farm advanced armor scraps? I can't seem to find a spot for it.

If memories serves me correctly, I have started to get advanced armor crap from all human type mobs that are 38-40. There are many camps and "red text location" on maps that has. I say keep doing quests and it will lead u to the right area that has them and build up levels. I distrubute all materials to all the guild crafter so it's all good

Honestly I prefer Fnordic. But the name really is irrelevant. It's the people we are playing with that matters. I'd rather be in a guild named pretty pink pwnyz, with cool people. Than actions with an awesome name with jerks in it.

Btw, guys. I'm almost lvl 35 and have 42k currency, so I'm gonna splurge on a few more recipes. Les, at work so I can't tell/remember what the chest armor was called, but I believe it was mostly red in color and I have a red shirt on to boot. I hate the yellow boots I got from a quest, but they are the highest armor available I have seen.

The 2H Hammer I have from a quest in Eristars Graveyard is epic-looking...too bad it will soon be replaced.

Yep auto correct has never really been my friend but I can't blame it to much cause I have it in English and I send a lot of texts in Spanish and Puertorrican (bad Spanish) so it changes things at will depending on his mood.

That was a PL only guild, I feel we should invite good players and by good I mean people that aren't douche bags like Archie or Gilligan. That way we can minimize the drama. Also its not the size of the guild that matters its the quality. On WoW we where one of the smallest raiding guilds and the smallest raiding guild that had less than 50 members for 40 man instances where the top ones.

In this game I have no idea what they will plan if they are going to make instances of 4 man or maybe 8 who knows. I don't care about the size but the people in it. I also invited a good friend I was playing the last couple of days a divine monk asimoonyx

I have run across a few advanced scraps, I sold one stack of them but I think I have a few left....I was running kinda low on funds at the time, but doing better now so I will try and save them. I will PM all my armor stats later when home.

Now, Heavy Fur I can load up on, if you need them Ech. I was selling for 1-1.5g a stack for cash flow, but my new fave farm spot I can rack them up.

Well, a couple of high lvl players just killed me back to back.
I think I'm done playing for a while. These pvp zones really ruin the game for me. The only ones who enjoy it are the high lvl players picking of those 10 lvls below them. If anyone feels like joining me there, let me know. Otherwise, I'm out.

Ech's friend helped me get to Vega square, but that's where I was picked off. I'm just so sick of it. I love every bit of the game until I get to those parts. GL needs to set some boundaries, bc players aren't doing it themselves. People have no shame.

Can we get to where you want to take me without going back and forth through be pvp zones? And are these quests doable without going through them?

My biggest gripe with the pvp zones is that there's not warning that you're entering it. Andthen by the time you enter it, you have to wait 5 min before you are free and clear ifyou decide not to stay. I vaguely recall other games with pvp zones giving a pop-up message before you entered those zones to make sure you want to go. GL really screwed this part of the game up. I really just don't know what to do right now.

All of the Vega Sq and most of the Waker Camp quests require constant being-in-PvP mode. So either skip them, or log for a while if someone is hassling you (I had to a couple of times because of Eclipse), or tough it out and take the occasional few deaths.

If you tele into Vega, Ech said you don't get a PvP timer, and you can head immediately south to Waker Camp...which is a small camp and I never got messed with there even with a timer, except once. The Graveyards south of that are not a PvP zone and have some killer quest rewards but you will need help as a 32/33, I was 35 and occasionally almost ate it. Then all the way down south is PvP free and is pretty fun, and southwest.

Uh, they do warn you. in red letters under the name of the area as you enter. And if you see anyone at all with red names, you know you are near or in it anyway.

Read my other post. I know I flamed on it the other day, but I just learned to deal with it and tough it out. Bringing it up here won't fix it with GL.

Les, you must be unlucky. I only got killed twice in Vega Square. One by Archie and the other by Famtom or something like that. Archie killed me once when I was there on the first day. I saw him a few minutes later and I just stood there doing nothing and he was decent enough to say he won't kill me again saying just tell him to stop. Just play don't let the jerks ruin your exp (write down their name).

I dunno, I'm dreading logging in. I had a timer on me when I logged off, and it continues whe you log back in. Do the pvp zones get bigger and worse with each map? Bc maybe I should just consider taking a break till they maybe do something about it. If this is the stuff I have to look forward to, it seems like a waste of time and effort.

It is a relatively small percentage of the game...the areas south are pretty damn fun. Agreed, it is badly flawed, PvP areas should be separate like in PL...but I just took is as a personal challenge that if Red and other 40s and Royce could make it through, so could I whether I needed help or not. I got lucky to run around after my Eclipse run-in with no one hassling me...lots of red names, but everyone just questing. Few times, got hassled, but not like that one night with HxLegionxH and Eclipse.

The enemies also seem to have jumped from lvl 32-3 to 35-6. Just seemed like a big jump compared to previous parts of the game.

Yeah, everyone home from skool and having their Spaghettios that Mommy made them for dinner before logging in to be twerps in game.

Yeah, some of the enemies there are pretty nasty if they mob you. I just ran through like my pants were on fire sometimes from pt A to B. I skipped the Soul Tower quest, couldn't solo.

graveyard mobs are 35-39....but oddly when I get down where I am now, lots of 31-38, is just kind of random. However, there is another tower quest where you have to fight your way in that I have just gotten mauled trying to complete...tried to rush, tried to pick them off one by one...all no dice. Lost 4g in 20 mins last night and gave up trying to solo.

See, my style of playing, for the most part, has been slow and steady. If I can only handle one mob at a time, I stand back and aggro him with my bow so be comes to me. And so on and so forth. I don't like running into a big pit of monsters. I like to take my time and play it fairly safe. So when I'm forced to hunt down mobs WHILE being attacked by other players, it makes me want to throw my phone down and not pick it back up.
Till I start missing the game, then try again, then get frustrated again, etc etc.
My favorite areas are the ones with decent farming not too far from a mailbox/stash where I can just take my time and do what I need to do. I'm not enjoying the frantic rush between high lvl players and mobs.

yea as you move on past the swamps, each area has a pvp zone and they do get larger. you should be fine though, all the real a*holes go to the swamp pvp to pick off noobs. the other areas they have more consideration and tend to leave you alone. there only one instance where toughie and another 60 had to come help me

My warrior is almost turning to 20 mostly just afk-ing in spot lol (I usually do this when I go to bed and then when I wake up and prep for work).
It seems you only get back into the login screen if you have stayed dead for a long time.

Guys, I seem to be getting some quick responses to my emails. I asked them about the email bug and pvp, and this was the response I got:

Open pvp area is really small in O&C. In WoW, it covers entire map and you will kill or get killed anywhere on the pvp realms

Only issue I see is the pvp buff, it should be removed as soon as you leave the pvp area

I know it sucks that you get attacked while doing quests, I have that experiences too, but you need to get used to it as that's the game style

what I do if I get attacked is I log out to character list immediately then play another character for a while (you have to fast enough to do this), unless I'm really confident that I can beat him

nothing you can do tbh because there are always some players behave badly in game

don't quit because of this, you are doing well now every time I see your warrior :)

Oh and btw, it seems I solved the issue of the long login time by Sync-ing my app into my PC's iTunes then uninstall the app on my iTouch and reinstall.

They've actually fixed the slow server issues, so they say. They announced it in their forums. Hopefully it really is, will try when I get back home :)

Hahaha! Yeah it might be that. It just so happened that I reinstalled haha! However, like most, I also lost all my quests and had no guild when I logged on.

As for the suggestion for the guild name... maybe try follow the pattern of the named monsters, I remember in the desert pvp zone, one or two players stopped and checked to see if I was an elite mob lol since I was in an area where the mobs had a "clan" name under their monster name lol.

Royce even offered to help me and STILL I got attacked twice by high lvl chars. One froze me so I couldn't do anything, dead. The other one I ran and logged out, hopefully in time. But it's just not fun. I managed to kill like 6/20 undead. And that's just one of many quests in the area. The most ridiculous thing is that you could be killed over and over for five min in the graveyard. Why the hell isn't the graveyard a safe zone???????

Anyway, maybe I'll try again in the morning.

I'm not impressed with people's responses to my pvp suggestions on the GL forum -- basically saying "that's what pvp is." I hope GL has more sense than that and makes some changes.

BTW, just sharing info, I have managed to loot a Colonel's Symbol in the Desert Map from the Burloc Lord boss. Spawn timer is around 10minutes. I was just doing a quickly daily and out pops a bigger than usual minitaur, and when I looted voila! I noticed it was not just a minitaur lol...

I can post screenies once I figure out how to extract them from the iPad hehehe! :)

Notice in the center there are green and yellow curved lines, green is my HP and yellow is my energy. On the lower left from that is a square with a bunch of names and colored text, this is what we call the Grid, which makes it easy targeting a player within your group. For healing / buffing purposes, it also monitor each individual's HP.

So far I am still satisfied with O&C. :) Hopefully someday there would be a way to tweak the user interface or to add user addons. :D

Yup yup! I'm hoping that they thought it through though. Lets say you do respawn in a graveyard, okay, no more PvP. But can you actually move area? What if they just camp right outside of the graveyard, assuming its a PvP zone right outside? I'd say they should make PvP respawn graveyards close to Teleporters, so you can opt to move elsewhere.

I'm also hoping that there are some tweaks, class-wise, gear-wise, and overall balance. The highest level blue bow is just wow, in a very bad way.

Hahah. Growing up, my neighbor would always ring my doorbell to play after he had eaten dinner. 9 times out of 10, he would have Chef Boyardee sauce around the edges of his mouth. He would be so shocked when I guessed what little Jimmy had for dinner.

Les you need to skip that area or get used to that I posted a thread but some idiots say thats pvp and not harassing or bullying (which thats what it is) On wow even though it was pvp on all the maps stupid things like this rarely happened of some high levels picking up on lowbies. Sure we did big raids on the other factions cities and in the process some lowbies got killed but they where casualties of war not that we would pick them in their spawn just to kill them. Our goal was always kill the king or get one of the world dragons kite them to a city and let the dragon unleashed some pain lol... those where fun moments when they where in the city and this big dragon came and wiped 30 players in a single sweep.

Anyway next update appears to be some fix for this so lets wait.

Permafrost mage- tough for the first levels (up to about 25), but when you get the +1000 armour buff, it becomes fun as hell. :)

Well, those Elite 41/42s in the early Desert are a handful at lvl 38 on a well-equipped warrior...got my butt handed to me a coupla times. I teamed with a monk and we were doing well until he suddenly DC and I was solo with 3 or 4 on me. Bamdead. Then I tried to lure solo and spawns would pop up beside me while fighting the one and poof. Say goodbye to 1.7g.

Was glad to see they are looking at the tele costs and the death costs...it is getting ridiculous when you die.

I can't get on to check, but I am fairly certain some of the human mobs in the northeast Desert in general are 40/41 (but maybe not 42), as I distinctly remember noticing and thinking, "Well, this might cost me some gold". It was 2am when I tried so I may be off +/- 1, but they were Elites and I know for a fact that some were 40 and 41.

Ah, maybe further in the camp they get higher in level. I have to admit though, the starting of desert grinding is the hardest it will get in terms of grinding. You can do well against 39/40 elites I think, just nothing above 4 levels, after the 4th level the mobs seem to have a huge boost in everything, damage, armour, resistance.

Think I have you added on my archer, so next time I'm on grinding I'll be sure to invite :)

Elites hit hard when you get one or 2 level though you should farm there that is one of the spots I was making lots of gold and exp. Just climb to the left hill when you are approaching and pull them with the bow 1 by 1 dont stay on the road or you will get you butt handed out. Also just before you reach them there is an NPC that gives you the daily quest and you get 10k exp from that. It requires to kill 8 or 10 of those elites.

Yup Ech is right. I even recommend staying in the same elite spot until your at least equal level to the next spot you want to grind in.

So there are the 39/40s, i think you can stay til 45. By the time your 43/44, you can gather like 5 of them no problem and kill them no problem too. It's that 4 level thing again, my monk went from taking 200s at 3 level difference down to 50s when I got 4 level difference 0.0

You can move to the 41/42s too, but I think it'll be faster if you go to minitaurs right after. Then the tower with the humanoid elites again in the lower left of desert.

Both. I grind and get gold at the same time. Also in the desert there are a few chests that drop good stuff and have a few humans close to grind and get money.

Money while levelling up mostly comes from quests, IMO. Mobs give good money too, but if you're gonna grind, I'd prefer maximise the XP.

Big chunk of money comes from farming gear from mobs in the last map (Rift). Green armours could sell for at least 50 silver each to an NPC, plate ones selling close to 1gold. Gray weapons close to 1gold, green weapons could go near 2 gold. So money isn't really an issue anymore later on :)

There's also not much to spend money on though, you could have 500 gold but unless something really rare pops up (which I haven't seen much at all), the gold you have is really just for pots/teleporting/crafting.

I'm glad you think the frost mages are good, as I find them quite difficult to play at the moment. I'm only level 23 and won't be leveling very quickly as I have post grad exams in over a months time and I'm only able to play intermittently and for short periods of time. I was wondering who is the guild leader at the moment and could I please join? :)

They are indeed very good.

Archers are good in solo-ing due to the amount of slows/knockdowns/roots they can do to a target, so even high level mobs can go down fairly quick.

Frost mages are very similar. Their single frost spells ALWAYS slow the mob down, and they have really good AoE roots/damage too. Not to mention that awesome armour skill you mentioned.

Zojak is the leader of this guild, if I'm not mistaken?

Thanks guys....I was standing smack in the middle of the road in the 39/40 and 41/42 area, so I suppose it is my own fault. i was feeling frisky as I had a divine monk with me, but his sudden DC was no bueno and we were in tthe middle of a brawl so I think his phone asploded. I will try luring from from a hill, because yeah that 2-4 lvls above me mobbing me, I couldn't last even with lvl 6 Courage giving me +190HP/s for 6 seconds and hitting a health pot when I could.

Speaking of that, I hate the cooldown on the health pots. Waaaaaaay too long.

Yeah Ech I saw that Daily and did it...easy 10K xp when you are on a team. Lots of the armor scraps Les is looking for as well.

And Blaze, Zojak is the BanMaster, although I think Doubletime, Echelongx and maybe Lesrider can invite ppl.

Quests all the way til end of the Whispering islands or start of desert. Grinding is only maximized when done on elite
mobs, IMO. The first set of proper elite mobs you encounter is in the start of desert too.

You'll pretty much need to grind anyway, since quests later on will definitely leave gaps.

Zojak, I would be biased if I said go permafrost for solo levelling hehe.

But I just saw the strength of it today. Soloing the merman level 52 elites at level 50 (started at 49, finished at 52).
The stone armor it teh shizneet! I just got it talented to reflect damage back to the attacker (right now at 2/3 its 60% but 3/3 its 100% reflected).

My pattern is to run around the area and get as many as I can while I have my stone armor buff (20 seconds). Then gather them up, pop fire blast, pop permafrost, pop frost blast, pop another fire blast, move outside permafrost circle, cast ice meteor, then pop fire blast/rock spine on remaining mobs that are alive.

Got me to from 49 to 52 in less than 2 hours. :D

I died only once, and it was because I warrior there suddenly asked me to team up with him and the menu popup screwed me up lol. Eventually we teamed together until I got to 52 and both of our bags were full of lewt~


It is hard at first since the damage is low, I would advice getting that fire blast early or after you get stone armor, the combo of fire blast and frost blast is win!

NOTE: Not entirely sure if its fire blast but its the tier 1 aoe from the skyfire talent tree.

Serpent slayer looks a lot cooler and it gives you 10 more hp, but the pike gives you higher damage from skills.

All these seem great. It is best to carry teleport scrolls (or should we call them town portal scrolls ala Diablo) so after you spawn at the graveyard, hit yer scroll. :D

It looks really awesome on an iPhone, but at times seems too sharp and crisp that it just slows down gameplay, IMO. Especially notice it when going from iPad 2 - iPhone 4. Hope there won't be device advantages again, we've been there.

Yeah I've had this happen at times too, but I'm also on a 3gs iPhone and had a ton of apps opened. It tends to only slow down when I receive an email or text during gameplay.

Les, I'm moved on to new areas, so I don't have a ton of silver anymore, but I'll be sure to send you anything I find. I have 20 silver and iron ore at the moment for you. Do you still need exquisite scraps? Have some of those as well.

I do hope they make an ipad version and improve the UI. I hate it when I am trying to hit a skill and suddenly the game decides to tap a distant mob that is far away and my ranger decides running at that mob is better than finishing the job at hand......

Yeah I've had this happen at times too, but I'm also on a 3gs iPhone and had a ton of apps opened. It tends to only slow down when I receive an email or text during gameplay.

Les, it is near the Tower for The One quest...I will PM you where it is if you want to try and find it...it is not too far from Reverie, but in an area with a lot of hard-hitting 38 mobs (although they are slow). You could grind there but they tend to gang up and kill you very fast. However there are some zones marked with a skull on the desert map that have levels 43-45 and give good exp and gold with an average of 6-8silver per kill. I would wait till 45 to grind there.

Anyone craft cloth around lv36-40s for divine monk?

I don’t craft at all, so since I started last week I send all fur’s to Ech, ores & armor scrap to DT/Les, cloth to DT as well.

If there are other crafters need materials, simply drop me a Mail in game, I will keep it in inbox to remind me who else to send when I get collected stacks etc.

I am a quester, I enjoy all of them even the pvp area. So I like to quest/finish all then move on to next area, or go back to the ones that couldn’t get cuz not enough lv. I’ve never grinded but looks like it’s the way to go. I guess I spent too much time running around and swimming. I started to use Break Away because I ended up lost everywhere I go heh.

Goal for me this weekend is at least lv45+, maybe weekdays I will just do daily and 1 quest, I wish there’s more time lol

Cloth crafting seems the worst between the three types, unfortunately.

Cloth is generally split into 3, Divine monks, military monks, and mages - and further in those 3 are different builds.

So far, the only 2 pro cloth recipes I've looted cater to divine monks only, a wisdom/stam/healing power helm and shoulders.

Assassin/Archer crafted gear seem reallllly good, as well as the plated ones. Just clothing seems really limited.

I like ranger because of the range and power of skills, also because of how interactive and "open" the maps are, that lurking in the shadows and just sniping them from a distance is possible. But that's my opinion.

Echelong is the only assassin that I know of, so he'd be the one you should listen to for an assassins POV :p

Hmmm... A lot of people on global have been saying assassins suck...I maxed out the passive skill that increases bow damage by 30% but decreases melee by 15%, or something like that. I'm still doing pretty bad damage though, maybe it's just my bow. No one seems to have a decent bow for my level. I'll check the CS though.

I haven't come across an assassin at 60 yet, either nobody has bothered to make it good (it seems good) or it actually isn't good at all.

And bows, the weapons really aren't that great. The best blue end-game bow looks like a green low level bow with its stats -_-

A chunk of your damage comes when you crit, which is what you should be after. You get 20% more damage when you crit, which is huge, IMO.

I still have to get used to it and know my archer better, but I've already seen how good they can get end-game, and its definitely appealing :)

I tried assassin and its too painful to lvl up because unlike PL, a lot of the enemies are ranged also so if u come out of stealth and attack, the rest of the mob will eat u alive especially if the ranged mobs are using ice (slow) spells like the snakemen.

Lastly, assassins might be cool in Pvp when u start and stealth but against an archer, they stealth also... when u start PvP both will stealth so u cant sneak up on them anyway for the kill and once both out of stealth if ur not near him ur dead and cant stealth again.... a same lvl archer and assassin in PvP i guarantee the archer will win if both unstealth and assassin is not next to him.... dont forget, the archer has pin feet spell and by the time u can move I would of taken more then half ur health and if i crit twice of more, ur dead.

I agree assassin is painful but we can stealth in combat using smoke bomb but it's glitches >< and if you use pin feet we can use blink and teleport at your side. But yeah I am finding the hard way that assassins need a few fixes.

He he. Told ya. Max out Powerful Wave skill too....I crit 500-700 sometimes with Sonic Slash. And Beserk is the bomb. I go Off Shout > bowshot > bowshot > Sonic Slash as they get near > Charge (getting crits up to 600 sometimes) and they are mostly dead if all land before I have to deal with them.

Getting mobbed is a different story, but for a one on one mob, try that ^

Moog, if you're competing for the mobs with others, I suggest starting with sonic slash. It activates so fast -- like 5x faster than your bow. I get do tired of waiting for my bow to start. But if you shoot sonic blast first, the bow atomsticslly takes over while they run to you. I love it!!!!

I can't believe I'm gonna go backwards and max out powerful wave lol. But it's so necessary.

Yes, and with sonic slash you can save one slot in your skill bar (auto-shoot). Very useful! Even so, I have all the actives except lacerate (which I plan to get soon) and I am out of space. Guess I have to move buffs (off shout and stance) to the skill bar.

Razor blade is alright as well, when you are fighting multiple enemies and have morale to spend (you usually do unless you just used decap).

I am planning on maxing out all skills in the first two layers of guardian tree. Thoughts? I am unsure about lacerate, upgraded and with the advanced lacerate skill it seems pretty good. Anyone tried it yet?

Yeah I figured out that quirk of Sonic Slash too; start off with it (and yeah, waiting for the bow to fire gets old) and the auto attack picks up....helloooooooo free up a spot on the tab.

Before I respecced, I had Lacerate and it sucked on its own...does very little damage, and the bleed dmg was like 24-36, but I guess it adds up. I think it is like Sonic Slash....the base skill was kind of "meh" but once you upgraded Powerful Wave it was like "whoah". The Advanced Lacerate probably helps out a lot...if you have th epoints, why not?

As far as Guardian skills, max Heavy Clash...makes your Charge and Pounding Glow hit harder :D

And I looted a Mini Sand Demon late last night, he's cool...he either pretends to walk a tightrope and falls down, or he dozes off and slowly hits the ground and flutters back up. Got him from one of those flying gray gargoyle demons near the minotaurs :D

I think the first recipes you get right after learning a profession is roughly Lv 13/14, if my memory serves me right.

Also, I don't even know which profession crafts weapons, I assume its blacksmithing? Can weapons even be crafted yet?

Ah, if you can make pretty much all the weapons, that would sort of explain why the materials for blacksmithing are so costly or hard to obtain.

I've heard of people having a Generals Symbol, but have never heard of where they actually drop. I heard its from an elite in the rift map, but I haven't come across any. I'm mostly inclined to believe that it was a drop from a random mob in the lower levels.

I've never gotten a recipe for a weapon too, that's the thing.. hmm weird.

If you don't know what I mean, look at the most common high end bow, a blue Wind Cutter. Compare it to the most common polearm/2handed sword. MASSIVE difference, the polearm/2h swords are awesome!

Was definitely a bit tricky, coming from a tankier military monk to the squishiest archer (I believe that the archer/assassin class is the squishiest, next to the fire mage probably).

But it's also fun killing the mob before it even touches you, so give and take :p
