I ran out of quests and someone told me where to find the next group of them.

Can I just say how much I love that the game leads your through everything with quests? Still have not needed to grind much -- the quests take you to the proper locations for your level and give you enough xp not to have to grind. Love it!!

What level are you Les? Most of my leveling are through quest. I sometime grind a little extra to get to the next level, but quest give a lot of exp.

I have a lvl 19 archer, 10 warrior and like lvl 7 monk.

My shield has over 300 armor, but it doesn't seem to defend me against attacks anymore than not having it, not too sure if that is permanent armor, or just when blocking. Pounding Glow is real beast. Try investing in Warpath to get more Morale as you attack.

About auto-attack, no, you don't need it on the wheel. I have quick or sonic-strike as my "auto-attack" to initiate my first contact. It's nice to have your auto-attack on bow available though to aggro and have enemies come to you.

Cool, thanks I will try a) the Warpath skill and b) get rid of the auto-attack on my skill wheel. I use quickstrike or charge to initiate anyway.

My shield is 498 armor, and there is a NOTICEABLE difference in my survivabilty, not sure if it is a permanent bonus (I think it is) or if blocking....don't care, I definitely last longer.

As far as Les said about the quests....some of them are plain idiotic; you have to wait for NPCs to spawn and since only player at a time can action the NPC, you end up with throngs of 15 players trying to action the NPC, and waiting for a respawn. STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID. PL has this beat, on this aspect; imagine Cyber quests, where the Keeper drops a totem and whoever taps on it first gets it, too bad so sad if you too slow.

I do, however, like the fact that quests are the major source for exp....yes, you can go kill a bunch of stuff, it certainly helps, but the quests give major exp, relatively speaking. STS, if youse reading, this would certainly get people to be more interested in your quests.

Have you tried Salty Wind and the camp all the way to the north in Test Coast (sorry I don't really remember all the name). Also have you done there quest to get your blue armor where you have to kill an elite boss?

ive done all the quests there. i dont think the boss is that hard.

Damn man, you were 17 when i was 18. Now you're almost 25 and I am only 21. Anyway, the only two quests that I did not bother doing is the Save the Sailor and Pay Debt one. There many other quest to do that I didn't bother with those once I know it was over camped. There is one quest when you have to run back and forward for like 10 times. Good thing is that it's in the same town.

I'm not a fan of the AH itself, and I do wish you could search for keywords, major fail. Maybe you don't care, but I certainly do. if I want a 1H axe, I should be able to search for "axe" and not have to filter through 14 pages of bull**** swords I could care less about. Period.

But I do agree with your other AH points. But it seems laggy after a few button presses, moreso than PLs. I have had to restart the game, and that is with fast wifi and low ping.

I can't get anything to come up under Metal Armor either, but they may be a self-inflicted "doh".

I am about to do the sailors one tonight with the warrior, that ranger is just supersquishy to the point of near unbearableness...after I check me out some Sandstone Caves. I don't like the spinning camera in combat and 4 guys spawning on top of me while I am fighting another and die because I can't eat in combat, lol. But I do like the warrior better :D

I also wish (or maybe I just haven't figured it out) that the quests were in more of an order...I seem to spend a lot of time backtracking through areas I had cleared. Not always, but sometimes. But PL is the same way sometimes, as well.

Les, I know what you mean on quests. I love it too! The moment I think, uh oh no more quests here, it leads me to the next town with loads more.

Moar did tell me though that you need to grind most your xp at his level, 50s. Even then, I like the grinding here as it's different, you get decent loot off monsters, etc.

I'm feeling quite bad for PL. It's like PL was my current gf, and OC is this new hot girl :( lol

Red that mask looks SICK. Also whats your survivability at your level as a sunfire mage. Also does the increases m/8s at higher level help much with running out of mana?

My survivability isn't too bad since the enemies dead before it can kill me, but I have to try and heal usually after the fight. I can usually take on 3 enemies at once without dying. My mana runs out fast in those instances :/

Okay so I've found some stuff which are LACKING in this game.

What I liked a lot about WoW are their interface addons (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/default.aspx).

There are a variety of them and most common are useful are:
DPS meters
Healing Grid (so u can click and heal a person quicker and have much more eyes on people's health, it monitors buff duration to!)
Gear Value checkers - they give you the DPS value of a gear based on its stats and your class (i.e. mages need wisdom since it gives spell crit & damage, mana/second, mana, and i dunno what else magic related). With addons that give the user info if a certain gear has more dps value than their current gear, that would be awesome).
Game also seems to lack an online official forum? Not to sure about this but Google search hits (probably SEO-hijacked hits) doesn't turn out good.

Too much information is crammed into the iPhone / iTouch screen that it makes it hard to move around and play with faster reflexes (probably need an iPad for this lol).

Overall, I will still play the game to at least get to the max level of 60. From there I would want to know if they plan to implement raiding and instanced dungeons (much like PLs 5-man dungeons).

The game is like a cheaper WoW with less content / features.

you can create a character (leave him in a main town) then send him all your gold, I do this and it works well for me because there are many mailbox point around campings.

For instance, now you lose 40 silver per death but you only have 20 silver, you will just lose 20 silver for the death, then your money drops to 0. If you die again, you lose nothing.

on the other hand, sending item or gold between different characters in a account, you will receive it instantly. so if you need gold to buy food. just switch and send exact amount of gold that you need for food or potion (or you can use your second character to buy them then send back to your main character).

also I just noticed that there is a teleport merchant in greenmont that sells all main towns' teleport stone, like teleport stone to greenmont, silence, bellshoal, glimmermoor, and so on (prices are 10s-50s).

and finally I just reached 33 and got a nice staff from QUEST :D

Guys I'm getting frustrated with my monk right now.
First, he can't pick up ores. It just doesn't appear in my bag, no matter how many times I try. Is this normal?
And now, I finished the wine quest and the 10 bottles of wine never went into my bag, even though the second quest item did. I'm wondering if my monk is all glitches up. And I really don't want to start him over :(

Nah didn't get any AoE type Necro. My bro and I are mainly single target type builds.

I really have to respec later on, maybe when I can choose my last skill. I wanna choose the 1% str/agi skill but I chose the mana gain for each dodge/block attack - which doesnt seem to work well.

And yea les, you can. My bro and I do that when neither of us are doing a pick up quest, since I'm the leader and im melee, it's easier for me to loot everything :p

I'm curious, did you try to pick America as a server? Cause when I tried to choose Asia/Europe, it said I would experience lag, even though im in Sydney. Just curious.

Business currency can be gained whenever you craft items that you can already make. You can see what you can make through your spells tab, there's a crafting section there.

The amount of business currency you get is the total amount of materials you use. Take for example one crafting recipe is 10 Geraldine and 2 flux, you get a total of 12 business currency so on and so forth.

I had that problem, twice. Is it because your iphone ect ran out of battery while playing? I just deleted, reinstalled then turned my iPOD off and on. Then gave it 20 mins an it was working fine. I wasn't sure exactly what fixed it. So the second time I did the same thing and alls good.

I got it, and I find it kinda useful. Shame the damage is so small and the cd so long. Nice if you have mana to spare though, I'm also going for the points in tiger strike or whatever its called. What don't you like about the mana for dodges or parries? Do you have a low dodge rate? (Learning from your mistakes :P)

I had that skill in WoW on my paladin, gain mana after every dodge/parry, and it worked pretty well. Idk why here it doesn't, I don't notice even a small gain in my mana. I was also calculating it, maybe itll get better in the late late game, but as of now the 5% I gain isn't that noticeable, less than one spell mana cost.

What does Cleave do again? Pole arm needed? You should wait til you get Phoenix Storm, it looks awesome! It's also good damage and AoE. I'm debating whether I should put points in the skills making my Dragon Kick have more targets.

I went the fist path, tiger claw and dragon kick. Get the first skill where you get armour for each str/agi you have. Gives you heaps! I think after warriors I'm the next highest armored. I have almost 900 on my 24 monk I think :)

Military monk is the way to go if you want damage. Get the skill that have 10% or so to triple attack with hand weapons and get the kick skill. You will still need to eat to get your mana up after a few mobs.

Yeah military is the way to go. I was able to pretty easily kill anyone in my level range, anyone about 2+ more, I have a hard time since I can't connect on skills and they do.

I'm still unsure on how priority on stats is supposed to be. You'd want enough wisdom for good mana and regen, enough stamina for health, and enough strength for high damage, just not sure how much is enough though.

I fought one warrior earlier, idk if his Courage was that strong or I misclicked, but he was on 1/4 and he was healing back to full 0.0

Most likely. I have lvl 4 Courage and gives 80 hp every second, for 5 seconds. 60 second cooldown though.

All monk skills use mana. If you go military monk, you'll need to sacrifice wisdom which give mana and regen. You can kill 3 to 6 mobs until you need to eat. I am not sure if I am correct on this but agility should give you crit, dodge, and attack power.

Les, that was the biggest draw back with my military monk as well (level 11). With the low wep damage I was really relying on skills in most fights. When I had to engage multiple enemies I was in trouble after only a short period. So I am trying out the warrior and mage to see how they play. I guess every class will have drawbacks, I was just hoping for more sustainable mana use with the monk. Maybe it comes with higher levels. Not giving up on him at all, just gonna try some others to see the differences.

I guess every class will have drawbacks, I was just hoping for more sustainable mana use with the monk. Maybe it comes with higher levels. DT, if you decide to go the Warrior Guardian route, still put some random points into the Battle Tree in order to unlock Warpath, which needs 5 points to unlock. I unlocked it and have it at lvl 3, and it makes a huge diff...takes damage you deal and turns it into morale. I use Offensive Shout > Charge to start a battle, and between various auto attacks and the damage boost from Offensive Shout, I find I can keep morale generally flowing in order to use Pounding Glow (massive damage) and Courage (in-battle auto-heal) semi-often. Almost lvl 20 and digging this class the most.

Yeah, that Warpath tip was a lifesaver. You'll laugh at this, but I didn't even have a bow until last night...always saw the slot for it, but didn't realize it auto-switched to melee weapon, lol. I picked up some huge jagged Claymore from some quest, and while doing it looted some green Crossbow.

Is it just me, or despite the not-huge difference in "DPS", my 2H spear does a huuuuge amount of damage more than my 1H hammer? The DPS difference is only a few, the 2H spear is much slower, but I find that my battles are much shorter even with the slow weap speed, because the damage I deal is huge in comparison (although gotta be careful because of no shield).

And even between my 1H Claymore and 1H Hammer....the DPS of the Claymore is a little higher due to a lower speed, but the Hammer has more base damage and seems to hit MUCH harder than the Claymore, more than the DPS difference would indicate....some of it is the speed factor in DPSs being similar.

I did put auto-attack back on my skill-wheel, it made a noticeable difference when I pulled it off...I like auto because it gives me a sec to scroll the skill wheel.

I haven't even messed with a 2h yet. I either haven't found one that is that good or they just stink to me. I've already invested in the off hand expert skills, which increasing your off hand weapon damage, so I don't see myself investing in a 2h. They have a 2h expert skill too, it makes you swing faster.

You can use the sidebar and put your skills in it too. I don't really like it but I do use it sometime. You're buying mana pot? I don't use it unless I am fighting elite mobs. You can always run when you are about to die and low on mana. You don't really get any skill at low level so your only option is using Arrow of Faith so use item with wisdom at low level. With a monk you can fight 3 mobs at once and not have to worry. At level 22, I used Arrow of Faith to pull, tiger claw, then fly kick = dead mobs or almost dead mob if my skill crit.

just to let u know i really think the race u choose makes a difference to your survivability. I originally made an Undead ranger and when i get hit i die. Now that i am an Orc Ranger, I dont take damage as much, I dont have proof but I dont really die anymore with an Orc... I swear the orc can take more damage...

Also My build is much better after 3 remakes... sigh... I have put all skill points into archer and now when i take the high ground and shoot arrows with my Xbow, I get crit of 125 hits and by the time the bad guy runs to me, there're dead... rangers are good.

I also originally had a mage, its very painful to level... just like a real MMO (WoW or Asheron's Call, etc) but Im sure in the high levels a mage is deadly. The only class that really has a good chance to kill a high level mage is a ranger or a ranger specializing in stealth.

BTW, I have been reading the OaC forums, the highest level currently is 46 in game the the next highest is lvl 40... its like ... holy crap, can u say no sleep???

Oh, last bit of advice... about the no 3G thing.

For non-jail broken ipads/iphones like mine, I plug the phone into a power source and then tether the wifi for internet... there is NO lag and I connect just fine. I have an unlimited 3G plan for my phone so this is one way to play on the go. You can also do it with phone to phone as well.

it does not... so if ur running off a cliff, u will run off the cliff... if u hit a tree and gets stuck, ur triangle will stop as ur looking at it on the map...

About getting the intermediate crafting, you have to buy the book from the plate crafter guy in Greenmont. When you talk to him, scroll all the way to the right to see them, they are kind of hidden. They are also very expensive.

To help people level up faster. If you are ~ level 42 you should head to the desert. Go to the very south of the desert where the map transitions between the next zone. There will be many easy demon monster with a silver portrait on there names. Get a group to chain pull and you get a to of exp. Stay there until level 48.

Actually most MMOPRG has set for each class where only that class can wear (not the bonus part). This game is a lot like WOW so I was thinking there should a set.

Well, since I don't PvP and have no plans to, this is not much of a concern for me :p since Phys is on break, I have to pick up the "This is why I don't PvP" banner and wave it proud, lol.

Yeah, I just leveled it using books, only have two into it,, the defensive shout (whatever it is called) seems pretty worthless. I was thinking of going Guardian as it is the "tank" of the two, but I have stopped putting points into it. Some of the advanced skills seem pretty cool, i think I saw one that took damage taken and turned it into morale further down the tree, or something to that effect.

So I am gonna end up as a Riot Warrior, ala Riot Bear from PL with a few hybrid Guardian elements. Yes, Les, Courage has a long cooldown but if timed right, is extremely useful in battle, and with it at lvl 4 it seems like it requires less Morale to use.

It's like the dagger vs gurgox hammer issue in PL in terms of damage. Mantis Cudgel is really good too! You get him almost perma stunned while you kill.

5 seconds is a daze though, so if you do anything to the target it'll wake up, but its good for waiting on cooldowns! :)

Nah your not alone on that Les, the tapping. Even on my iPad it gets hard to tap the right mobs. I miss the command in WoW that makes you target what your teammate is targeting. Same happens for quests, I hate it when some people stand on top of the npc respawn point. Lol

Guys, anyone know if there's any rhyme or reason to the binding system in this game? I know that quest items all bind on being acquired. But even some loot does that -- it tells you before you pick it up that it will bind to you. And then about binding on use -- some crafted gear binds while others don't. Some looted items bind and others don't. I can't figure out the pattern. Is it random?

These "jerks" (being put way more nicely than I did if you happened to be online at the time) were picking me off and even camping the graveyard picking me off. Even followed me into town!! I regenerated after losing him then came back full force and killed TWO people at once that were trying to tag team me while I was farming quest items. After you get hit, you're in pvp mode for 5:11, and even if you leave the pvp area, you can still be picked out. So annoying. It was an undead archer that did some skill that wouldn't let me use mine and it was pretty scary..

You'll need to go there for quest. You don't lose money for getting kill by other player. I am glad they didn't make it like WOW where Order and Chaos can kill each other anywhere not just in pvp zone. It can be annoying with corpse camping and jerks that get your health way down when you're grinding and let the mob finish you off so you would lose money.

Yes definitely. I used my running spell too and the pk'r (player killer) used theirs too :( couldn't out run him since I think his was upgraded so his speed lasted longer so he caught up to me. Res at the graveyard, boom picked out by that archer. He picked me off 3 times that way too.

Then as I said I caught them both. Revenge is sweeeettt.

I've gotten so fed up that I'm actually on my way to the next island. My level range finally and no pvp. Life will be good :)

Yeah the red day countdown is for the message. Sounds like you might just be lagging. You tried logging out completely and then back in? I've had some weird things happen like an item not show up in my bag after I picked it up, but then it shows up later out of nowhere. So just keep trying.

It is an extrac bug log off and try it again or leave the zone and reenter. If everything fails contact support although don't expect fast response like STS so you better sit down.

The normal scraps are easier to get on the lower part of Mesa camp the blue goblins there drop a lot of them and the lvl 10-13 boards/wolves have the highest poor fur drop rates. It took like 2-3 hours of farming though. Also its easier if you make the gloves since they use only 8 fur and give you 10 business currency and they don't need armor scraps. I am on my way to 25 and trying to get advance when I get there. If you need leather armor let me know or anyone here its free of charge if I have the mats. I can make lvl 22 gloves hat and boots and level 25 chest.

Moog, now that I'm up to intermediate smithing, I'll let you in on my farming secret. Mesa Camp has about 7 bronze locations in/around it and the goblins drop scraps. I parked my mule there with an empty bag, filled up on mostly bronze and some scraps. But ores are easier to farm/carry, so I suggest smithing lots of bronze swords and less armor. They don't sell well, tho. Quick currency. So yeah, just farm with your mule and mail them over to your warrior. I now have three marcacite recipes and lots of marcasite to use. Just need to find some HQ scraps :)

I would sooo move the HQ scraps. I can now make all marcasite armor. I fan make you a full set if you provide the materials (marcasite ores and HQ scraps. I'll provide the quality flux.). The armies are all like lvl 22-25. Just email Xanatos whatever materials you have and I can make you some. And next up: weapons :).
When I get to these lvls, I'll have this awesome gear waiting for me.

I wonder if it would make sense to just have a guild crafter or two for cloth/leather/plate and then everyone gives materials when they need something and/or to help speed up the process?
I know Echelong has come along far with the leather. I'm making my way up with the plate. What do you guys think? Cuz the prices are going down in the shop for the finished products. I don't know that it makes sense for all three of use to be making them.

I have a glove recipe for archer and I am working on getting the chest, hat and boot recipe. I am using ordinary fur atm. Sucks there isn't a single good dagger for levels 17-25 other than the one you get from the quest. I think these devs forgot about the assassin class.

I don't think there is an offhand weapon for marcasite. Unless it's the 1h axe? The lonsword is main hand and the rest or 2h.
If you get me enough material I'd buy the axe recipe if you want. But it costs another 400 currency :/

I'm beginning to like my warrior more and more than my mage, although I can still solo level in swamps vs the naga and the fishfolk, the open pvp sux tho.

If the player has killed you, you don't lose money. However, they can get your HP down and let the monster finish you off so you would lose money (very very d-bag).

My warrior is level 12 now but I can only level one a day during weekdays and then probably catch-up on weekdays (Weekend Warrior!), due to work. :)

Also if you have spare grenadines / normal scraps, kindly mail them to Teena, I don't want to give up on tailoring I'm almost at 550 business (tailoring) currency, at 464 now. It gives me 35 business currency for one black grenadine armor (28 grenadine, 4 normal scrap, 4 normal yarn).

So I am almost in intermediate tailoring. I think we still need tailors for our monks. :)
If ever I would abandon my mage, it would be to make a healing monk, but will probably level up the monk as military then switch specs at 60. :)

Anyone still keen on levelling mages to 60? Seems like a lot of people are liking warriors more. XD
