Well I am still giving a shot to the assassin spec, got a few skill books today and at level 50 I'm doing crits for 1700 with an outdated dagger a blue lvl38 dagger. I don't think there is a single dagger from lvl 38 to 56 with a speed of 2.0 or 2.2 or at least one that has higher base damage than mine. If anyone comes across of one please let me know and I'll buy it if the deal is good.

Anyone craft cloth around lv36-40s for divine monk?

I don’t craft at all, so since I started last week I send all fur’s to Ech, ores & armor scrap to DT/Les, cloth to DT as well.

If there are other crafters need materials, simply drop me a Mail in game, I will keep it in inbox to remind me who else to send when I get collected stacks etc.

I am a quester, I enjoy all of them even the pvp area. So I like to quest/finish all then move on to next area, or go back to the ones that couldn’t get cuz not enough lv. I’ve never grinded but looks like it’s the way to go. I guess I spent too much time running around and swimming. I started to use Break Away because I ended up lost everywhere I go heh.

Goal for me this weekend is at least lv45+, maybe weekdays I will just do daily and 1 quest, I wish there’s more time lol

lv46-48 is a hard time due to lack of quest in desert, all you can do is grinding or doing repeatable quests

mobs in the rift are above lv50, so it will be too hard for you to go there now

I'd go to rift at 48/49. 49 would allow you to start grinding in the merman area, especially since they are 52 (3 level diff). There are a few quests in the first town, just not sure what level quests start to appear.

I do suggest grinding quite a number of levels though, I remember going to rift and doing the quests at the appropriate level on my monk, but mobs were hitting me for 200-300 everytime. I grinded til about 54/55 and theyd do 50s.

The first place I'd grind is the top most of the desert map, near "The End of Desert".

There are 39/40 elite mobs there, the first proper area where the mobs are actually mostly elite and not just a few random ones.

So I'd say 36 would be a good level to start, especially if you're going to do it in a group. 3 level difference should be enough to allow you to do decent damage, 4 just makes you rely on crits only to do good damage. This is all assuming physical damage though, magical damage doesn't seem to go through any level difference.

Yeah, you sorta do.

Take for example if a level 60 would be in your group killing the 39/40 elites, he wouldn't be receiving any XP in the first place, so I don't think you would either.

I remember Toughie powering me through a bit, he was 60, we were in 52 elite mobs, I was only getting about 150 xp per mob kill even at 40, mainly because the 8 level difference for him gave him so little XP, therefore giving me little XP. So I'm guessing the XP gained in a group is dependent on the highest level and the number of people in the group.

There's a quick trick on power levelling, but you'd need a really high level, or 60 if possible :)

Let's say your 49, within 3 levels of the 52 elites in rift. That'd be the best level to start in especially since it gives heaps of XP and you can actually damage them.

What you do is get a 60, but do not group up. You (49) fight the mermans until half hp, and the 60 finishes them off. All xp goes to you.

Have yet to try it on my archer, especially since he can solo pretty well. I did it with my monk though :p

I haven't come across an assassin at 60 yet, either nobody has bothered to make it good (it seems good) or it actually isn't good at all.

And bows, the weapons really aren't that great. The best blue end-game bow looks like a green low level bow with its stats -_-

A chunk of your damage comes when you crit, which is what you should be after. You get 20% more damage when you crit, which is huge, IMO.

I still have to get used to it and know my archer better, but I've already seen how good they can get end-game, and its definitely appealing :)

actually i vsed jinjo hes an assassin he does crazy crit but is easy counter when comes out form under the shadows if he doesnt stun/knock you down first you can knock him down/freeze if u do that fast enough you can Put Assassins on there *** but if you miss they will Destroy you crazy damage tbh more of a pvp then pve class as you run out of vigor quick

As far as I remember, the final dragon quest gives you an awesome choice of weapons. I got my first trident looking polearm from him :p

My monk? I'm definitely military.

Spent my 2 extra skill points into that reduction of mana per skill used in the divine tree, other than that, all are in military :)

Don't have a quest that leads you to the next town? Some Mikotovia or something (starts with an M, sounds russian).

That's what I like about the quests in the lower levels, they lead you to the next town to the next.

Actually I am liking it more but I need a better dagger mine is outdated a blue level 38 its still good but I think I will try and get a sword or fist and forget dagger stab till I get a better one.

This is the build I am thinking of using when I get to 60, I found this calc someone made still has a few errors like the level and the description on some talents but you can get the idea. I am doing 1,600 and 1,700 dagger stab crits but if my dagger was better I think I could go over the 2k mark; although IMO it should be a lot higher since almost any class can out dps us except maybe the monks but they can heal so they will out last us, since its almost impossible to stunlock in this game because vigor won't let us. Crits at my level should be around 2k to 2.3 and at 60 they should be on 3k IMO.

Yes, I finished all the dragon's quests....then when I hit 47 ran back to Tower Antoria and did those few that you can grab at 47. Almost done with the three repeatables, gonna turn them in and go do that 10k daily back at the beginning of the desert, then go grind on some minotaurs. Should be close to 48 at that point.

Elly, you weren't kidding about the xp pots...stacked the 100% and 50& xp pots to try it out, woo. Teamed with a human ranger and we cleaned house on minotaurs. I racked up like 130k in an hour, and that was being afk briefly because of a phone call.

Btw, if anyone 47+ looking for super armor scraps, they drop from the human 49 mobs east of Antoria heading towards the lake...they are in a little camp. They weren't there until I grabbed the 47 quest.

Also let me know if anyone needs mage cloth.

Crit seems terribly low its only close to 22% with over 40 added crit thru gear and the 5%crit thru talents. But with sneak I have 50% added chance of crit for about a 70% chance when I come out of stealth and if one of my dagger stabs crit the mob is dead if its on my level no matter if its elite. If it doesn't then its another story and I have to go defensive to preserve vigor.

Well then to all that didn't know hehe.

On a totally different random (not you moog) note leveling seems a lot easier for all classes other than ranger. Since every class can group up mobs and kills them at the same time and rangers have to focus one one at a time. But I am almost there and Asimoonyx makes things go way faster, I kill he heals and kills. When paired to a priest (divine especially) killing is twice as fast with almost zero down time. Mits hurry up and level that priest lol.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one, thanks...I don't remember where Dustin Wood or wherever is, but I remember that quest now. I'll look around for the beserkers too....I was farming the 49 bandits but they weren't elite and didn't give as much xp as even the 43/44 minotaur elites.

My crit is like 51@24.89% or 25.12%, I guess I crit often and seeing many yellows. I wonder how Hit chances and % works, I kinda wish Phys and Elf are playing this game, would make life so much easier for me lol From my 10 sec patience calculation, I think 1AGI=2ATK.

I am really focusing on stats building now, going full-on damage demolition mode, focusing on agi/atk/crit and all the good stuff, if I sacrifice armor and sta, my offensive is my defense heh, love my archer.

Was talking to Royce the other day, he is divine monk with 1 point into military like my Moon. He keeps 2 sets of gears, 1 healing set, 1 solo/damage/spell+ I assume; I totally forgot he is Royce and this is something that he would do :p I was face-palming myself why I didn’t think of that for future (perhaps it’s lack of stash storage to keep bound items so I just sell to merchant, even some early level items offer great boost for spell+/attack/crit/parry/dodge etc)
If say in end-game dungeon big boss stuff, a fire dragon will require you to wear +fire resistence gear, I am starting to see more passive stats accessories items (neck/cloak/rings/trinket etc) poping up, such as Parry/Dodge/spell resistence. I wonder if we should save those for future, but that’s whole other topic about end-game dungeon content.

I’ve only been focusing my divine monk on wis/Healing+/Sta gear, my healing power + is 151, I need to see if I’ve maxed out my healing potential, Divine Breath heals 1900s, one of these days I am gonna jump off a roof in Riverale (sp) town on Whispring Island and see how much I can heal up (critical heal 50% lower or 25% HP), and if heals also has a crit like attack spells, how much potential heal power I can have.

Try this bro, let someone take agro first, stand directly right behind the mob, stealth+backstab and see what happens, if it produce more damage. (OR Sneak walk behind a mob, Stealth+BackStab, traditional way of how MMORPG rogue works). I love seeing when 1 hit mob die cuz of crit.

Imagine if this works later on in end-game dungeon boss, you have 1 guardian war charge in take agro and 5 assassins all stabs in the back. That would be sweet.

There are 4 daily total you can do in Desert, all like the beginning one that gives 10K+ (the 10 Nomad, 3 demon weapon and 6 neckless). The 4th one need to be lv48 to get, kill Ankar Priest and loot an item at SE direction of that red letter dungeon on map, it rewards gold and a ring to choose from 4. The camp is south of the town (don’t remember the name, but it’s the daily town in the middle, and has the dragon head ramp entrance) then you need skew east a little towards the SE red-name dungeon. Once you finish 2 quests the daily will pop up.

The berserker elites for daily and grinding is at end of SW direction of map. Those will give you 500+ exp, but I think you can get 300 or 400s solo with mino’s, it’s less crowded, easier and more relaxing. Over there with berserker elites you have to compete with spawn, brings back bad memory of MMORPG people KS or setup camp next to you and move in on you and stuff… I guess I am such a loner I want a dungeon dedicated to me just like PL heh.

So it’s like 40K+ per day doing Desert daily, I think this is what I am gonna be doing when I have very limited time during week days, or I teleport back to Whisper doing those easy 4K daily quests.

Don’t have a lot of time on forums so when I do, I tend to write as much as I can.

I afraid if I start xp potting, it’s not gonna stop so I have refrained myself from that… for now :p

And if I do pot up, it’s like I need to dedicate that 30-60 mins and compete all the mob spawns aggressively with others and that tends to bring out the worst in me. I like to stay a hassle free happy mits :p

If I had the whole zone / spawns all to myself, then maybe I would. I think PL spoiled me in terms of quick/easy game. O&C and types of this MMORPG just bring back my younger gaming days memories when group / guild compete for mobs / item / boss spawn.

Anyways, hopefully by taking this game slow, by the time I am 60, PL or O&C will have new content, or B* will be out.

I've hit master tailoring and bought the most expensive master recipe from the tailoring NPC but it requires General's Symbol.

Here are some of the things I can craft, do take note they require Colonel's symbol, hence requiring me to camp a boss hehe. :p
They use Moire Cloth so if you have any moire cloth, kindly send them to me, I plan to buy all the recipes, but need to craft moire stuff to do that.

I can also craft the physical dps version of that cloak that gives +agi, +str, and +stam.

Just keep crafting your recipes, they add "business currency". You can see how much you gain in your character tab, under statistics.

For those reading and interested in the PL based guild (now renamed BanHammer in honor of Justg) -- there are several of us that can invite since you have to been on-line (I believe) to send an invite to the guild. Zojac, Xanatos, Royce, Echelongx, Doubletime all can add people. So just add us to the friend list and whisper us when you see us on.

We are all on at different times usually, so in theory one of us should be on when you play.

I believe any purple recipes available are given with the blue recipe. If you get a blue recipe without a purple it probably means there is no purple. But I'm fairly new to the whole recipe looting thing, so I could be wrong.

Ok, gonna have to start farming that Minotaur soon. The couple of times I actually managed to find him, I was alone and he was too strong so I had to run. Usually when I'm teamed with someone there's other people farming too. The stars just never seem to align...

Elly if you get a recipe that has a blue item then after it should be an epic item. To craft it you need to craft the blue first then the epic one using the blue plus the essence.

Check bellow the blue one you should have epic items at the end.

As for the guardian set I will have to go back to farm karla but the last 10 or so times I killed her I haven't gotten a single symbol from her.

At 48-49 you should be able to kill him without major problems.

GL really messed up on some of this crafting stuff. Like where recipes/mats are available. I bought lvl 48 GREEN recipes, not blue, GREEN, and the magical blood minerals won't be available until I'm in Rift and past the lvl I'd use the item. This makes no sense. (Don't even get me started on the whole real-cash-for-the-best-items thing.)

All quests that you are able to turn in come up with a yellow icon that has an open scroll on it. If you see that, it means you can talk to the NPC to turn in a quest.

Zoom in the world map, at the most zoomed in view you can see where your submittable quests are.

confident. guarentee he will by the time im the appropriate level. im completely skyfire with the exception of the frost bolt and energy field. frost bolt + fireball back and forth and by the time it does get to me, ill use cyclone once and itll be down. when the enemy is effected by fireball, itll do an additional 1000+ damage, and effected with frost bolt it freezes the enemy while doing continuos damage. i also have lightning fall that does another 500 or so dmg while stunning the enemy. then if that last part doesnt do it, i have fire barrage thatll knock them down while doing about 400 dmg and then i have shock wave that i can spam whos cooldown is almost non existant.

I was thinking before when I choose that I will be able to craft weapons etc... for monk/warrior and other classes.
Should I stop leveling my monk and level up my lvl 12 ranger/assassin instead which has the proper profession for it's class?

or Should I just focus on leveling the monk to 60 and hopefully by that time there will be a respec or some sort of a way to change the profession class?

First yes you can craft weapons for almost all classes. Finish your monk first then go to the ranger.

I'm good now, just need mage cloths and super armor scraps for master level green items, focusing on cloaks. I have cloaks for healers, mages and physical dps. :banana:

I plan to buy all the recipes from the tailoring NPC. For now I find the most useful ones are the cloaks. Crafting one gives me 9k tailoring currency.
It needs 27 magecloth, 3 super armor scraps and a tailoring thread (which I can buy on my own). If you can send me your spares, I'll send you the cloak(s). :)

I can also craft Darkstripe Hood now, a blue level 45+ (i think 48 or 49) helm which can be converted to epic. Currently searching Sinskaald Rift's chests for the Darkstripe gloves... :)
It requires 1 colonel symbol, 30 moire cloth 2 advanced armor scraps (or 3, I forgot), plus the tailoring thread (magic one, color blue forgot its name).
I will post a pic soon but its stats are it gives wisdom (+16 or 18) and 8 mana regen per 8 seconds.

Your damage numbers as a 47 against a 51 elite will be half that or less. Fact. You can talk about your damage numbers all day against your level +/- 2 mobs, but up against +4 levels elite boss, your numbers won't be that. Fact.

Hmm odd. When did this change? Bc we were standing by one chest for a while and gave up bc it wasn't spawning. But another one (by the demons) seems to be on the 10 min timer still. Did they only change it for certain spots?

I tried two spots in Rift, and both seemed changed. It might be possible that they changed only some spots though.

But I'm just more concerned on them making changes without actually letting people know. Yeah, I agree. Their communication is off. I dunno why they insist on doing everything through email instead of on their forums where everyone can see what's going on and give input. Instead, they have personal discussions with each person who has a problem. Seems less efficient.

I think the possible changes in the game recently are due to economy. Lots of gold farmers capitalizing on selling gold cheaper than Gameloft sells them. I also think they don't want to inflate crafting much (insane crafting mats price in AH).

You will need to craft items with the recipes currently available to you to get currency based on the item you craft. You can see the amount of currency you in the Character Menu, Attributes tab and swipe to the leftmost part.

You can then use this currency to purchase higher level crafting at an NPC in Greenmont.

By Vigor you mean the yellow bar right? Like our "mana"?

There's no way to increase it other than our skill "Strong Vigilance", which increases max vigor by 20.

You just really have to know your rotation of skills well and time everything :)

It'll get better, my archer is at 54 now and I love levelling with him. I can usually go non-stop with proper combos, especially with your slow poison :)

Archers are the best solo-ers, IMO. Not as easy as warriors in terms of survivability, but once you got it, its quite easy.

Some guy in the forum posted that 2 pieces of the master recipes for leather had something like,

Chest (Purple) : 28 agi, 50 ranged attack power, 25 crit, 15 hit
Pants (Purple) : 23 agi, 20 stam, 30 ranged attack power, 26 crit

Those are AWESOME stats! I thought they were chest recipes at first, but I was told that they had "Stealth Hunter" prefixes on them, and all recipes the NPC sells are Stealth Hunter 0.0 so I have to check that out, and pray that they're good..

If not, meh @ master crafting for now. Bad recipes + general symbol needed, such a turn off.

I've also heard that they changed chest respawn timers. It's no longer 10 minutes, it's at least a couple of hours already.

They can't do anything about game issues on the forum because those administrator are just responsible for the forum

but for PL forum, some developers are involved in administrator role so they are able to communicate with all users directly

Yeah, everyonce in a while you end up with some jerks in the area that do that. It isn't as bad as the swamp area, but it does happen.

On a good note, I didn't get attacked once in the pvp area in the desert completing the 4 or 5 quests you have to enter the zone for. So at least the further you get, the less you have to deal with this for the most part.

Next time it is happening, give a shout over the guild channel. If i'm on I will port in to see if I can help. I'm only level 47, but I will do what I can.

The pvp area on the islands was the worst, IMO. Even with Royce's help, I kept getting killed. But I tried the next day in the morning with Elly and DT and we had no problems. Try to avoid pvp areas at night when kids get home from school. And try to go with a friend or two who needs to do the same quests.

I loved the desert bc there was only a small pvp area and it was usually empty. We got to do all our quests in there without a problem (I did accidentally hit another quester and apologized right away lol. Would hate to start a fight over that -- wish our attacks on mobs didn't hit people nearby).

Not looking forward to Rift, tho, bc I hear it's bad again with the pvp. Honestly, not really looking forward to much in Rift -- can someone give me a good reason to go there sooner than later?

Stamina only gives health. Vigor is always 100 only with a talent on the archer tree that gives you 20 more vigor. Regen is always the same too. As for losing vigor you get a talent for 3 points that reduce vigor you lose while taking hits less.

Rift is not as bad as whispering islands.

Sorry to hear Joey, in a way I am trying to get lv60 too so I can respond to this kind of thing if I see it in guild chat. I never pvp in MMORPG (only did few with formora when in PL, that was fun) but I think for this game I will have to practice.

Not at all times guild can respond to this because we aren’t that high lv yet, or when we are grinding and it’s hard to see guild chat among many other msgs and mobs whacking you. So apology in advance if I missed out the message needing help.

I started to browse O&C forums for some game info and found this thread above, check it out. If you remember the names and what the pvper did, I am sure the Eclipse person in that thread will respond or take action. Maybe, maybe not. But I like to give people benefit of the doubt, can’t always judge a book by its cover. People play games for different reasons. But when it’s building ones’ happiness based on other’s people’s pain, then it’s a whole other story.

Back when I was near Vega Square or other pvp quest area, I tried to be smart about it. If I am questing, I try to find a more remote area that still have the mobs I need (daily was 10 wind 10 earth human etc) For other quest such as killing skeletons and wraith, I do the same too run/train to an area to setup my camp spot away from others. Do my thing and try to turn in asap. I didn’t learn about using teleport until later in game, cuz I am cheap on silver heh :p

Or, enter pvp, find a spot and wait for the 5 min timer to come off and try not to re-enter again.

I’ve only been pvped 5 times. Once in swamp Olandie quest, someone started attacking for no reason so I took him out then also took out his guild members who tried to gang up; 4 times by lv60 near Mega quest npc for no reason. Even came up all the way to the mountain ledge up top to kill (right side of npc you can climb up to afk / wait timer but be careful how far you go or you will get pvp tag again )

Ultimately, everybody will be lv60 and high lv. But simply say there’s nothing to do at lv60 so it’s fun to target lowbie, or trying to find a pvp game by provoking others, I guess I am just a noob that never got exposed to this side of MMORPG before.

Yeah, I have started doing the Rift quests, and some are challenging as a 50 as some of the mobs are up to 52 and if they mob you can be trouble, and I have run into some 56 mobs that I could barely dent. But what seems odd is that as you head west out of that first town (yes! mailbox AND stash) on the road, that you can't avoid going through the PvP zone, which sucks. I haven't gotten PvPd yet IN the zone, everyone seems pretty cool and are just running along questing...one guy questing near the same place I was inadvertently nailed me with a bow shot instead of a mob and immediately apologized.

HOWEVER....the same little Nigerian clan dude, Mcelotto, that hassled me in the Swamps PvP area is now a 58 and is always around that first Rift town...hasn't messed with me yet, but I have seen him going after people in that town. I have had three people PvP me IN town, once when I was at the mailbox. Lame. One was a 55 who beat me once, then as soon as I came back to town from the cemetery (a ways off, too) he tried again and I smoked him with a 1700 Pounding Glow crit and then got lucky with a 1000 crit Sonic Slash right after.

Is there a way, other than running over the hills somehow straight south (which then takes you into that obnoxious lava pool/fire elemental/bulette area), to mostly avoid the Rift PvP area? I will just continue to suck it up, if not....but you can't seem to help but run through it, and when you are back in the first town, almost everyone has timers and some bad seeds seem to be hanging around there.

Oh, ok....I think I know what you mean. The road starts west then turns 90* south, so I assume you mean hug the right wall as you head south, because the timer/boundary is there. Gotcha. Some of the quests do take you into the zone, no matter what though. My prob was not in the zone, but having a timer when heading back to turn in. I could just go stand in a hidey spot for a few minutes, too...I just get impatient, lol.

Yeah, I am about 3000xp short of 51, I think Cyclone (Formora) is 51, Royce was almost 50, Mits is 50 or higher, and Bearded and Les are right behind...plus you at whatever higher lvl you have made it to :D Oh, and asimoonyx (cool guy!) is 55ish I think. We may not be a big clan (yet) but everyone is doing really well and sticking together a lot. I know hawkeyi and others are up there too and gaining fast.

One thing I will do once I eventually hit 60 is go back and help out the guys/gals encountering trouble with gankers. I have a list of targets.

Hey Joey...yeah, the Desert PvP area is pretty low stress, as far as gankers. Just have to worry about the mobs (snake guys) mobbing you up, but if you go slow and pull them one or two at a time, is a pretty fun area. I never saw more than 2-4 other people in the area, and most were across the map and doing their own thing.

Same thing happened to me in Vega Square, I literally have to log out because a bunch of Eclipse were sitting there PKing people as the respawned. I couldn't tell who, because I was getting killed so fast I couldn't actually see the chatting, but I could see "lololol" and the clan name Eclipse repeatedly. I almost want to write on the post on the O&C forum to address Abby. She is pretty fair about it, but their PKing is more widepsread than she makes it out to be.

Who IS bad about is the NigerianS clan...lurkers who randomly jump people and then run to cemeteries and try to get you again.

I have run across several Eclipse people in the Rift PvP area, and none have ever done anything, and are just questing so maybe they are working on cleaning up their rep. Having Moar and Zipponator over there may be helping us out indirectly as well (yes, they are both in Eclipse apparently).

Anyway, maybe we can get Red to add this to the first post, but my known gankers are Mcelotto from NigerianS, a couple of other NigerianS who I forget their name, Soulcry (on the list on OC forum, spawnkilled me several times one day), and my personal favorite who i will spend hours tracking down, HxLegionxH. Foul-mouthed little loser who I will PK and make cry (assuming I can beat him) until his mommy comes to tuck him and his teddy in for the night. He is often on Global acting like an a$$hat.

p.s. Joey are you still looking for cloth for crafting?

Isn't it funny how those players that jumped you in the swamp or vega square just kind of stick in your memory. There was one guy in the swamp that jumped me while turning in a quest then ran over to spawn kill me three more times. He was about 5 levels higher than me and was my first real experience with a real jerk spawn killing just because they could.

I have seen him in other areas slowly leveling. I just saw him in the desert today. He is 39 and I'm about to hit 48. :)

He better pray to the good Lord I never run across him in a pvp area because I will harrass him all the way to the Rift and back.

PS -- Moog -- I teamed up that Monk you played with yesterday (lectus) grinding xp at the Noble elites in the desert. Dude knows how to play. I killed mobs non-stop for an hour and he healed like a machine. I had three to four mobs on me almost constantly and never had to do anything but attack. If you see him around, maybe talk to him about what guild he is in. We need more divine monks that play like that.

Yeah, Lectus is awesome. He is in Insanity or Eclipse (I think) though already...if I (or you or anyone) run into him again, will extend an invite, in case he ever decides to leave. I teamed with him as well the night before you were there, and we stayed for an hour doing fairly well and both did a full level pretty quickly. He is really good like Royce.

I will probably play my monk next, although with some upcoming RL stuff coming up, probably gonna have to take a break on all games for a while.

The whole pvp issue for me ruins the game and it is especially annoying when people attack you while you are in town - and why on earth is the timer set a five mins? I've never played pvp in any game before and it isn't really my thing. I can handle the general mobs with my mage reasonably well, but against other players, I seem to really struggle so I've started using the teleport function where possible.

I would like to spend the time to catch up with the rest of the guild, but that isn't going to happen any time soon, unless of course everybody starts new characters! lol.

Bro I always imagined what you would do/feel like when gets ganked, knowing how you play I think they need to watch out when u 60 heh. I only have 4 names added to friend list so I can watch/learn where they are when I am 60.

But then again like DT said how it sticks in your memory wanting revenge, I know this was the motivation I had one night when I decided to actually go for 60, instead of just killing time and wait new PL content or B*.

I’ve learned to let by-gone be by-gones, since that’s like some 20 levels ago so I might just delete their name off friend list, why get reminded when seeing yellow message that they are online or offline heh.

However, I’ve only be killed 4 times with 4 different people in pvp (I think only 1 is known ganker, might have to check), so it might be a different story for me :p

There is this lv60 orc war Funnyvillan running around asking to borrow 8 gold and return. At first I gave him, thought he is in need cuz it was by AH. Then 10 minutes later of course he didn’t return and logged.

2nd time I ignored him. Now 3rd time today he came up and asked same line. I thought there’s no hot key chat in this game? Because I told Ech about this and Ech said he got it too and the orc is doing it to everybody in town. So that means he will have to type the same line over and over again asking same thing to everybody.

Btw, are any other crafters (leather, cloth) sorely disappointed in master crafting? All that time and effort put into getting there and the green recipes are junk, and any looted items around my level are already outgrown. The green recipes aren't even worth the gold ore needed to make them. I miss the low lvl crafting that actually gave us something useful to use for a few levels. Sigh.

I guess its a different case for smiths since you mine your ore and the blood mineral is quite rare. :(

For tailors, mobs drop mage cloths so we can farm them easy. :banana:

I am disappointed that there is only ONE source of general's symbol (afaik), there should be more. :) Or some instanced dungeon where bosses inside can drop the symbol (and essences!). :)

Btw, this is what my lvl 48 crafted shoulders look like. They're not spikes, but I still think they look pretty good. They require 6 blood ore each. I'm not in rift myself yet, but as I get enough of the or from others, I've been sending them to warriors in our guild. Hopefully I'll have enough before everyone's outgrown it :/ If I do send you a pair and you can't use it, please send it back so I can give to someone else, since they're not so easy to make. With the blood ore I got so far, I had enough to make myself legs and shoulders and one other person shoulders. The legs are lvl 47, so I'll just make the shoulders for whoever needs and not waste them on legs.
I hope rift has some good higher lvl recipes, though. I might still purchase some more, but they're all blues anyway :/. Wish master smithing had more greens. Not looking forward to competing with Twilight and Eclipse for symbols in Rift.

Edit: I made another set of lvl 45 shoulders with 287 armor. No idea who needs it, so if you do please tell me. Also, the lvl 48 shoulders have 312 armor. Please let me know if anyone needs so I can get it to the right people (wish the guild/friends list told us lvls when people are offline).

I haven't noticed it yet, if it was any more on the drain/usage, but I will try and pay attention more closely over the next couple of days. I am not sure what the next level is, but I am guessing that the attack speed myself...the diff between 1 and 2, I don't recall the number of additional targets changing. I can't check right now (no wifi at work) but next chance I/anyone else gets to go to Silence for whatever reason, I will take a look at lvl 3 and see if I can see a difference.

At 53 now, I have 37/11 or something like that. I skipped Lacerate/Improved Lacerate when I respecced, no off-hand expert, no dual wield expert. I haven't put any into Bull Strength but I think Les has, she might know if it is worth it. I put three into Rotor Storm and I am rethinking it...some mobs tend to dodge, but not that many and those three points may be better suited somewhere else if I respec again. Rotor would be great for end-game PvP, I have been watching global/local chat and some of the better players have high dodge gear, and Rotor causes a chance of knockdown when an enemy dodges.

Ankle Slash in the Guardian side looks pretty handy, I may see if I can unlock it with my remaining future points.

I don't know if they ever will...I am not sure though and I am not super techie, I would think that the massive data to render the world/landcape constantly might lag on 3G, not to mention combat. I have seen ppl talk in global about a Cydia 3G unrestrictor app, but I haven't seen anything about how well it performs.

I am for one glad it is NOT on 3G, it is already hard to not play too much, and it would make it even harder if it was 3G.

It works surprisingly well, I use it on my phone over 3g or tether using my phone as a hotspot and ipad. I can play without any dips in performance. it doesn't consume much data, remember that you only establish the connection to the server and the application is the one that renders the landscape. The connection only tells the server where you are and what you are doing.

Yup stick with military and don't even bothered doing a hybrid - I just saved you a lot of gold!
I have respecced few times already probably 5-6x already and tried different builds etc... and at the end went back with military.
The skills/talent structure of this game isn't as complex and capable compared to diablo 2.
This game is a simply KISS, the skills does what the description says with proper support of other skills/spells.

I haven't played this game on true wi-fi yet. I've been sharing my 3g off my iPhone to my laptop and broadcasting that back to my iPhone through wifi. It works very well, but is a pain in the butt. I hope to get back into the game this weekend, but ultimately 3g anywhere would really sell this game for me.

GL is in it to make money, and has always been their rep. People are obviously paying for it, therefore GL will continue to do it. CASE CLOSED.

All this debate/complaining about games costing money, both here and in PL all over the forum, is driving me batsh*t insanse. They are businesses. Yes, they need to listen to their customers to some extent and find a happy medium between cust. happiness/profitably...but come on. You guys continuing to act shocked is getting old, sorry. They are not the first game dev to make the best gear available directly and indirectly for money, but that has been kicked to DEATH on multiple other threads in the past several months. I am not saying I like it either, but it is what it is and I would rather having fun playing whatever game and paying a few bucks if I want to have a top end primo piece of equipment, or getting by with the best free gear than sit and endlessly bring it up.

Some of their probs in O&C like the ridiculous PvP zones/quests therein, spawncamping by high lvl players, etc need to be fixed. If they address those, I can live with having to spend a few bucks for OPTIONAL FR**ING ITEMS lile xp pots or epic weapons.

Yeah they are in to make money but man it feels more like a scam than an actual part of the game. Put it this way in order to craft a full set it will cost you $75.00 plus 1 or 2 weapons thats another 15 or 30 bucks added, then they raise the cap in a month or two and you need to buy all of that again and God forbid they make another essence costing 150 runes.

I am all in that they need to make money but that expensive? not even paying a subscription in wow will cost that much. If they lowered their prices people would buy a lot more and not only a few.

On another note they are gonna fix the pvp zones making the cemetery none pvp and they cant camp in there.

I can be a cycnical a%% sometimes, but the negativity in the forums in general lately just makes me want to say **** it and roll solo.

The only issue I see myself having with the elite gear is if it stays the best gear when PvP comes out. In that case, the top rated pvpers will be ranked more by the amount of money they are willing to pay for gear than skills/tactics etc (ofc skills and tactics will still count for something).

For pve, I have no problem with them- like you said they are optional. For me, hell no, but that's not gonna make me try and prevent others being able to get them. I believe WoW has some sort of PvP/PvE only gear system which might work for this game too...

Just do it the hardcore way use pots lol. That is what I am planning but military seems easier to level because of multiple kills. I do plan on going dual wield because of the process it has it reminds me of wind fury one of the best spells back when I played wow.

I hope to get back into the game this weekend, but ultimately 3g anywhere would really sell this game for me.

Our TelCos here in the Philippines have provided a pocket-wifi service, wherein they sell a router that gets its internet through 3g and broadcasts a wifi-spot, maximum of 5 devices can connect to it, but since this is 3rd world, the quality of the connection may not be up to par. I have yet to try it with but I am planning to get one. :banana:

Thanks to Mitsu last night I was able to get my hands on the Darkstripe Gloves recipe. So if any of you want the blue version, kindly send me mail or whisper me in-game so we can communicate and then decide when to find the necessary symbols to craft it. It needs 35 moire cloth, 1 colonel's symbol and the mage thread (which I will be happy to buy for you).

The only issue I see myself having with the elite gear is if it stays the best gear when PvP comes out. In that case, the top rated pvpers will be ranked more by the amount of money they are willing to pay for gear than skills/tactics etc (ofc skills and tactics will still count for something).

For pve, I have no problem with them- like you said they are optional. For me, hell no, but that's not gonna make me try and prevent others being able to get them. I believe WoW has some sort of PvP/PvE only gear system which might work for this game too...

PvP is not just about gear, it is more about teamwork and talented the players are with using their particular class. Maybe gear just factors in about 5%.

In WoW it is the same, having the best gear even tuned for PvP won't guarantee you to be the highest ranked PvPer in the land. It takes time, effort, a lot of practice matches to master great control of your character in varying situations. :)

I mean no offense by this, just saying it based from my experience. BTW I think I duelled that Nigerians guy who PKed you, he died in town and couldn't be resurrected lol, I think my magic is cursed. :banana:

If you don't like the costs associated with a premium epic weapon....DON'T BUY IT. Sorry guys, I am just venting so do not take it personally please, both of you (and others on this thread) are great guys and gals....but forumers in general are wearing me out to the point where I am about to bail on the forums and/or the guild because I don't want to listen to the same point belabored OVER and OVER, and the other general minor points being belabored into the dirt. I can be a cycnical a%% sometimes, but the negativity in the forums in general lately just makes me want to say **** it and roll solo.

Ben, excellent idea...I could handle my subscription being slightly higher and costs for runes lower. And yeah, Ech, the costs for the weps does look to be too high. Yes, I agree they should be tweaked down.

Again, I don't get the SHOCK about a company charge real money for the BEST gear. Again, I don't necessarily like it either. But...if it is there in game, I don't care as long as it doesn't stop me from playing with free gear. Sure, some don't charge, like you said, Ben...but I have seen others that do, especially a couple of iPhone games that were #1 in the App Store for a while.

They are OPTIONAL items. Repeat after me. Not having them does NOT keep you from playing or enjoying the game.

And Ben...I would have tried running it over and over to get it for free/get the best gear....but if I had terrible drop luck and I reeeeeeeally wanted it, I probably would just buy it eventually if I could. In the end, I would be happy with my gear (and I love shiny new gear), who cares how I, you, anyone got their gear?

Exactly! You can still play the game even with just greens all the way! Plus the game has not been out for a month yet!! :P

A lot of content still coming out, a lot of changes will happen since, to some extent, Gameloft has a feedback mechanism (their painfully small forum).

We never know the future so just deal with what we have RIGHT now. You don't like what you see RIGHT now then don't play. :) Don't buy. :)

Ugh I was afraid of that. I bought a few blue recipes, too, that need 3 general symbols each. I think 1 each would still make it hard enough to make!!

The only Rift boss I know is the Elemental King, its in Vita Springs Twilight. From what I know, Eclipse and a lot of other people camp it though.. Only source of General's Symbol that I know of so far too..

from a 60 elite that spawns in the twilight spring. Has a 2 hours 15 minute spawn time, I think. I went today at 7am and it was camped still and last night at 12am the same thing. I will try early on tomorrow.

If you guys have heavy or strong furs that can send please do. With the heavy I can make blue gear for ranger but need to camp the elite which I think I will do today. After that all I need is 35 or 40 heavy furs I have all the other mats needed.

Had no problems yesterday when teamed with a friend, but the second I got separated, they attacked. Feel like I can't leave town without a safety buddy.

not really I just keep running like they are not there I don't stop unless its a quest that I am doing. There is a way if you are going to the fish folk that avoids getting pvp flagged. Stay close to the right wall when you are heading out of town, take the small ramp to the right and hug the right wall if you do this correctly you won't be flagged. Also once you level just take the teleport to the suspended city, there arent any other pvp areas in rift so the annoying part is only at the beginning.
